I like the styling of the Genesis Coupe. But, it'd be nicer if the turbo 4 had a little more oomph. As it is, it's no quicker than a stock Tiburon and slower than my 06 V6 Sonata. It sure looks nice inside, though.

March 15th, 2009 02:16 PM #38nice price na rin somehow for a coupe that delivers ALMOST the same luxury at capabilities at half the price ng mga bigating coupes like the z at eclipse.
nga lang para sakin bakit hindi ginawang led yung taillights man lang?

Motor Trend tested both the M/T and A/T versions of the 3.8L V6 Genesis Coupe.
It's interesting to note the A/T tested or spec'd better almost across the board including gas mileage.....
TEST DATA (6M; 6A) Acceleration to mph 0-30 1.9; 1.9 sec 0-40 3.1; 2.9 0-50 4.3; 4.1 0-60 5.5; 5.5 0-70 7.5; 7.2 0-80 9.3; 9.1 0-90 11.8; 11.1 0-100 14.3; 13.7 Passing, 45-65 mph 3.0; 2.8 Quarter mile 14.2 sec * 99.5 mph; 14.0 sec * 101.0 Braking, 60-0 mph 111 ft Lateral acceleration 0.90 g (avg); 0.91 g (avg) MT figure eight 26.2 sec * 0.67 g (avg); 26.3 sec * 0.68 g (avg) Top-gear revs at 60 mph 2250; 2050 rpm

Add: Normally, a M/T should've done better. In this case, I'd have to say the gearing is more optimized on the A/T version which isn't surprising since Hyundai has more experience with A/T in its higher hp cars.
If that's the case, I wonder if the A/T have Shiftronic. None of the car magazines tested A/T Hyundai cars in Shiftronic mode. But from my own experience and others, Shiftronic mode almost always gave better performance at a cost of maybe a little abuse.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; March 15th, 2009 at 11:12 PM.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
