Yes, it's a safety feature, and perhaps a lot of GSs will not see past 100 kph, but what's 110 kph?
Pero how sure are we that the GS from the Gray Market has a speed limiter? It's only one forumer who said that there's one yata, and some new owners haven't tested it yet. Let's believe if 2 people are saying if it already has

Ok, that's fair. Maybe prospective buyers can ask the casas this specific detail.

Anyhow, my only point is, if it's Gray with a limiter vs HARI without, I'd take the HARI unit. Personally, the missing amenities can be dealt with, or perhaps the others ignored. If it's between both speed limited units, eh di pound for pound/spec for spec na ang labanan, ulit.

Went to hancars awhile ago. They can disable the limiter daw. So I won't go to HARI dealers nalang.
I was considering them in case the gray market dealers won't be able the adjust or disable the speed limiter.

I suggest you test drive the unit before you purchase, bro... Run it hataw mode up to about 160KPH (huwag ka lang papahuli), just so that you are convinced that there is no speed limiter and that it suits your driving preference.....

Just got a confirmation from EuroStandard Motors that the 2014 KDM Grand Starex has a speed limiter of 110 kph. But you can have it deactivated upon request for free during the buying phase. And you can also request to revert back to the old speedometer with the top speed of 220 kph for a fee. Hope this clears anything about the speed limiter

Pero personally, I would rather opt to have the GS's speed limiter deactivated and still retain the new speedo with 160 kph top speed. At least that one is free

I would most probably do the same, bro... 160KPH gauge is about 'adequate' for my driving preference....

Thanks for the research, Numbah5. So it's a fact, but there's a workaround. I certainly hope casa is serious about that limiter deactivation being free prior to purchase. Shouldn't it also be available for free after purchase?

160 kph is good. Parang Gen 1 Expedition. Much better than 110kph only.

EuroStandard told me that they inform their buyers about the speed limiter and offers to deactivate it for free. Ako kasi still considering the GS and the Hiace SG and the Peugeot Expert Tepee as the replacement of our almost 8 year old Strada. Pero number 1 choice ang GS from the Gray Market. EuroStandard so far ang nakapagbigay ng best deal. Ginawa nilang freebie yung heads up display (same nung kay Hancars), free tint nila is 3M or V-Kool OEM series (choice of the client), tapos better PMS schedule than Hancars (every 5k if mineral oil gamit, every 10k pag fully synthetic oil gamit).
