Agree with automatic transmissions being hard on your front brakes. Thankfully, nakukuha pa sa brake pad replacement.

Come to think of it, need to check na din pala.

Same with me bro. Ours is already 35kkm and so should be at 40kkm...

Any difference in usage rate between the OEM and the Hyundai pads bought from Goodyear? What I have now does not produce brake dusts....

My friend had Runstops installed in his Navara, nag warp sya. I'd try DBA or Brembo if available.

Bro.,- I believe Seiring and Goodgear are selling the same Mobis (Hyundai) front brake pads and so I am wondering why you had that experience.

Finally someone with the same experience!

I Put RS on the Prado's fronts. 6 months, warped! Grrr! Funny thing is, my friends with Fords (different sizes of rides) all like RS rotors. Tumagal daw. Akala ko ako lang ang may diperensya.

Siguro, next time when you travel,- you buy those stuffs and bring them in na lang.....

I used to take that Atimonan route to Naga. Wala kasing trucks masyado. Same as you din, I don't drive on long trips anymore, pagod na haha.

Wish I could bring in some rotors, hirap lang, mabigat. Maybe 8-9 kg/pc?

Yep. Doesn't help that the GS weighs 2 tons+.

Bro.,- thanks for the actual cost of the front brake pads....

I should be buying a pair anytime soon,- at baka malapit na ring palitan iyong sa akin....

Yours is TCi rin bro, right? Have you replaced your drum brake shoes/pads (sa likod) already? TIA.

Hi guys i've been reading a lot of discussions about the GS.

Family is looking for a bigger car which can carry 10 people. We currently own a 2008 Gen2 everest 4x2. Its been almost perfect. No major problems so far. Kung hindi lang kami naghahanap ng mas malaki we would like to keep it. Mas prefer namin isang kotse lang for the whole family.

Based on the current choices in the philippines, it's either the GS, Hiace, Nissan NV350 and other chinese made vans. I'm a bit inclined sa GS because of its better tech and also better looks for me at least. Dont like the fact that the passengers in front are the "crumple zones on a crash for the likes of those vans without a "nose"

We've owned a Gen1 carnival before. Loved the van to bits. Way ahead of its competitors during its time. what ive learned on korean cars is their designs and tech is good, but their parts are weak.

Another dillema is, i am also more inclined to consider those GS by Hancars mainly dahil sa toys and same warranty offered by HARI.

I will keep on backreading on your previous discussions and hope i get more encouraged to get a Hancar GS.

After backreading a few pages, it seems i am more discouraged. Hahaha

Its like our kia carnival all over again.

Hindi naman sirain ang GS as long as you take care of it. Kung talagang pangit ang performance ng GS hindi naman kami magkakaroon ng more than 1 GS in the family. Bale 6 ang Starex na alaga ko ngayon, my own personal 2009 CVX A/T, my parents' 2 GS, a 2010 and 2013 CVX, tapos sa office naman we still have an old 2002 SVX A/T which is still in very good condition and also a 2011 GS TCI M/T and lastly, a 2008 GS CRDI 12 seater A/T which was bought just last week and has only a verified 25,000km mileage, we bought it to replace the office service Innova which will be shipped to the province soon for use in the local office there.

Siguro it helps that our mechanics in the office are so used to servicing all the Starexes under my care kaya we rarely have it serviced outside, only the aircon and ATF dialysis is done outside. We source our parts from Seiring, Fronte and Goodgear.

Thanks for answering sir. Are your units from HARI or Hancars? or any grey market importer...

My 2009 CVX was bought from Pitstop, my parents' 2010 was bought from a gray market importer based in Ortigas, the 2013 was bought from Car Options in D Tuazon QC, we looked at the units of Hancars before we bought from Caroptions but they were more expensive by 200k loaded with stuff that my parents find useless for them. We also looked at Chicane Auto Access but they only had a white unit available and we really wanted the Hypermetallic color.

The 2011 TCI and 2008 CRDI 12 seater are both HARI units, they were bought second hand.

Thanks for the info sir. For peace of mind i think we should get our unit from HARI. Those additional toys are just more things to go wrong anyways.

Almost end of life cycle na pala ang GS since it was introduced in 2007 pa.
