Don't get fooled in buying Hyundai. I've purchased one and it is with me for five months now. These car is low quality and accessories are the same as china made cars. The spare tire alone is a big disappoinment. Who in the right mind will sell a brand new car with a spare tire smaller than the four? You can find that only in Hyundai. I had a flat tire and I was terrified of how to bring the car to the nearest vulcanizing shop. I also found out that the spare tire's ream is so thin. Their service is not long term. Once you accidentally buy one it is goodbye and they don't care. The tires also are low quality and it won't even last for a year. Yes it is cheaper but you will be spending more in replacing the parts just in a year of purchase.
Investigate carefully the car before you purchase or else you will end up cursing yourself. Better to buy a Japanese car by adding a few thousands and you will have peace of mind.

Hyundai has a 5 year warranty.

My friend had a Hyundai, and I think it ran better than a City or a Corolla.

Same reason I sold my Japanese car for a Korean.

    Better consult with your dealer.

Can you provide any factual data to prove your claim? I really doubt that you have a car?

I have both a nissan and a hyundai and we are actually enjoying both japanese and korean cars.

    Troll somewhere else.

JohnTad, hindi naman siguro lahat ng Hyundai at depende siguro sa dealer, kasi naka-dalawa na ako ng Starex, first was 2003 model at nagamit ko for 4 years ng walang problema, I always interchange my tires at 2000 to 3000 km kasama yung spare. Now I have CRDi model na for 2 years at ok pa din, pinalitan ko yung 2003 model after 4 satisfying years na gamit kasi may bagong model na nga at medyo mas malakas ang CRDi. ang nakabili ng 2003 ko very happy kasi ok pa siya with all PMS records onboard. Bro, tulad ng iba na-timing lang talaga na medyo hindi ok ang dealer mo or ang napili mong unit. Happy and safe driving bro.

Korean cars are good, I have the Santa Fe for 4 years (w/o changing any even the tires, only the AC compressor pala), I-10 is MADE IN INDIA (not available here in Saudi).

Thanks for your comments John, you allows me to think 10x as I plan to buy this Dec 2008.

a friend is considering the i10.. don sa kakabili lang.. magkano discount nakuha nyo?? at anong freebies ang binigay?? anong dealer??

we looked at Hyundai Fort.. 10T discount lang plus free LTO.. then pag nag inhouse daw.. they can throw in 3M tint and backup sensor.. pag cash.. wala.. standard tint, seat cover and floor mats lang.. insurance is at 16T, 0% participation for over 10T claims.

Try other dealers mate. Try Hyundai E. Rod or Hyundai Quezon Ave. (kung taga south ka alam ko malayo but it might be worthwhile). I think for i10 P10K discount seems fair kasi sa low naman yung price nya eh so they can't give you a big discount. But I think you could make them pay for the insurance at least for the 1st year. When we bought our Santa Fe sa Hyundai Quezon Ave I was able to negotiate for that free insurance but normally they don't give it away. More pressure might be needed!

Don't generalize by having a donut spare make a car cheap.. Paano na yung BMW, some variants doesn't have any spare tire at all.. .. Seriously, my previous ride was a japanese brand, it also had a donut spare.. I think this is the trend now in other countries..

as i have expected, mini cars like this one would really blow tires up. kaso tanong ko lang, sinadya ba ng hyundai na maninipis mga gulong nila kaya madali silang masira? i've read somewhere here kasi about the carens naman na pumutok yung gulong dahil din sa manipis yung ewan ko sa loob niya. im just wondering. wops teka di ako nagbasa, dami pala nagrereklamo sa post ni johntad

manipis yung sidewall ng mga tires ngayon.. yung sa carens naman eh bumangketa yata yung kaya sumabog.. any tire that will be severed on the sidewall will surely explode if not damaged badly and irrepairable..

kaya siguro manipis ang sidewall is for comfort nung tire also to lessen road noise...

yung carens naka donut spare tire din... as for the term spare tire eh pamalit lang incase masira yung orig but not for permanent use.. anyway mas ok na yung may spare tire kesa wala.. also donut tires are lighter, smaller and easy to install

Donut spare tires arent really an issue. Our TOYOTA Echo verso use to have one and gamit na gamit ko din. Are you surprise that you have a donut spare tyre?

    Downside ng donut tyre is
    Not for front use
    80kph lang

    good side
    Magaang
    Space saving

Getz 1.1L engine, I thought I would be saving more on gasoline. I bought one thinking the smaller the engine the less it will consume fuel. I noticed this by comparing with my 1.3L Toyota Vios. Weekly we are travelling to our relative who is 80 km away where we sometimes use our 1.1L Getz, I realized that Getz is consuming more gasoline than our 1.3L Vios. Toyota is really fuel efficient, the same for Honda.

I suggest, before deciding to buy a car, to visit internet sites that reviews and compare cars. Hyundai is not fuel efficient and its dashboard is made of cheap material that for a few years becomes brittle and cracks. Its tires also is not durable and the spare tire, beware, for Getz, the size is smaller in diameter.
