what?! ganyan ka-mahal? and i think libre pa ang labor nyan as with Hyundai's free labor on PMS for 5 years. ako i paid 1.4+k on my 1st thousand PMS on my Vios. Medyo mahal pala ang pag maintain nyan.

Durability? Kung basehan ang dami ng taxi operator na nag switch from other brand to hyundai accent then reliability is not a question. IMHO

Yes kuha ka na, baka magkaubusan Yung friend ko last month inavail ang "low down" promo ng hyundai e-rod. Happy siya sa speed and consumption. According to him: trip from meycauayan>manaoag>baguio>benguet>meycauayan ang isang full tank may tira pa about 1/4 gauge level.

Don't know magkano sa mga auto supply that sells hyundai parts.

i do believe na nagshift sila into accent because of it being diesel. It's plus factor for them, di na sila mag LPG poisonous daw sa health. Thou may nabanggit si manong taxi driver, sabi raw nya, their company switched from accent to other brands dahil sirain daw ang accent, they have 2 units. 1 unit nasira ang turbo, the second unit, nag lolock daw ang manibela pag sudden brake. can you guys confirm these? am looking into making a decision within this week.

the things i look into a car
    1. automatic (sana)
    2. fuel economy
    3. low maintenance - meaning, availability of parts outside casa, competitive prices with regards to consumables like goma, brake pads etc

I also heard stories like that also from someone who actually owns a taxi company... The old Accent was very fuel efficient but it was not that durable... 2 years lang daw sa kanila yung mga Accents dami ng sakit sa ulo unlike the Vios daw (they call the 2nd gen Vios "Batman", not sure why?). Yung Batman nga lang daw prone to overheating... But we all know how the taxi driver's have found a way around that...

sira ang turbo: Kasi naman ang mga taxi driver ay rev muna nila ang makina then patayin kaya ayon naiwan na mabilis pa ang revs ng vgt TC inalisan na ng oil supply so sira ang bearing. Kulang sila sa knowledge about their unit.

Nag lock ang manibela pag sudden brake: first time ko narinig ito pero minsan ko narinig na may reklamo tungkol sa electric power steering but I think this problem was already fixed. Maybe isolated case lang ito just like toyota D4D hindi naman lahat naka problema. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Di mo naman gagawing taxi right? You should be fine... These turbocharged engines are just not as tough when mis-used and abused!!

    employee mon-friday
    saturday & sunday :shhh: hehehe

anyway, i've bumped into a rangen taxi driver. I've asked him about the locking problems of accent. sabi niya, "totoo yun", before naranasan nila on the first generation accent. what happened was there's a mechanism that stuck inside so ang solution nila: may ginawang switch yung boss nila na once nag lock ang manibela, they just have to press that switch release na uli without turning off the engine. Galing!, this guy knows a thing or two about it, pinakita pa nya sa akin yung engine saying na, nung ondoy, hanggang kambyo na raw ang tubig, pinatay na lang nya ang aircon. I asked him regarding the computer box, sagot nya, ay mataas ang location ng computer box, he opened the hood and uu nga, nakalagay sa engine bay upper part. So I guess, he got away with that. He also showed me how to take off the aircon filter, nanduon lang pala sa compartment (in front passenger seat) unscrew the case and then bunot the filter and linis. ganon kadali. He compared it to a vios which tatanggalin pa raw ang dashboard etc etc, all i can say is, he can be a hyundai sales person, he loves his taxi and his job. kudos to kuya oscar.

p.s. he mentioned too that rangen handles hyundai servicing, sa kanila daw pinapasa ng hyundai ang trabaho. anybody heard of rangen?

Rangen transport is owned by Mr. Rannie Santos. Isa sa unang taxi fleet company na gumamit ng accent. Ika nga unang sumugal sa sasakyan na di pinapansin at that time due to its brand Hyundai. Quote from hyundai insider magazine vol 2 issue 2 August 2008, Mr. Santos said "We were among the first who dared to use Hyundai accent as a taxi". "Performance-wise Hyundai is very good; it drives fast and the aircon's cool."

Just got my Accent CRDi this friday. I think it was one of the very last Accent CRDi kasi puro new gen na ang pinaparating ng HARI although maglalabas pa din ng previous gen CRDi ng pa-konti konti kasi may demand pa daw sabi ng SA ko.

I heard this locking steering from my dad pero binalewala ko lang hehe

Nakaka bigla lang to actually having it confirmed.

anyway, i got my unit at sobrang tipid sa fuel at sobrang sisiw lang ang 150+kph...

i got carried away, nakalimutan ko break-in palang ako hehehe ;)

Isa ako sa mga nakakuha ng last batch ng Hyundai Accent CRDI (2010). Just got mine last Dec 28. Like everyone says, I'm one of those happy Hyundai Accent owner. Lakas ng makina and sobrang tipid. Average FC ko is 19-21kpl.

    First car ko pala btw.

Sometimes i feel miserable looking at this thread. Those accents can keep up with me and they're still sipping diesel fuel unlike my FD which eats 6-7kmpl of gas at the same speed. )
