Just curious, how many barrels of oil are needed to produce (factory, materials, workers transpo, other resource directly/indirectly needed, etc...) to produce fuel cells and other alternative fuel sources?

Baka naman inakyat lang upstream sa value chain ng product yung consumption ng fossil fuel.

Bingo! Di pa cost efficient ang Hydrogen... aside from the extreme cost in terms of vehicle production, the pump-to-tank-cost-ratio is about ten or twenty times worse than that of gas, and much worse than most any other alternative fuel.

hydrogen will never be an answer because it isn't available as a raw fuel, the way hydrocarbon-fuels (crude oil and its byproducts, methane, natural gas, biodiesel, etc.) are. Hydrogne will always have to be produced, and right now, there is no cost effective way to do it. At the rate battery tech is going, we may sooner see a hydro-solar-wind-geothermal power infrastructure powering an electric transport system.

If hydrogen ever becomes commercially viable, maybe our problems will be over... but it will take another few decades of hydrogen production and storage research before it becomes possible.

parehas po yung hyro and LPG ng system sa pag rerefill...pero yung hydro ehh mas risky i handle...kaya may locking mechanism yung refilling station para sure no leaks...>>

oh well, hydrogen power is still very much an infant technology hehe, good thing though that alternative fuel research is underway as global oil stocks are drying up fast!
