sir, if have the money, i would not put my money on a civic 2.0 DOHC A/T. pero kung maglalagay pa rin ang Honda ng top-of-the-line na variant with M/T variant, well i might consider it....Originally Posted by eljo3025

Bumili? Forget it..
Much higher, in this case... I have softened my stance on hybrids since driving a Prius, but I'm still firmly of the notion that it's more of a rich person's convenience than the answer to the oil crisis. A full electric or a depleting-charge hybrid would be a better fit to the needs of most motorists.
I'm on Team Diesel, by the way... the hybrid boys are going to be sucking on my exhaust this Saturday!!! Wahahahahaha!!!!
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Definitely Hindi.mahal at wala akong pera.. mas excited ako sa e-jeepney ng MVPMAP.
Just PM, guys, if you want to go. We will be finalizing the route and meeting place tomorrow. ;)

Only a few seats are still available for Team Prius & Team Focus.![]()
based on the poll mukhang limited na lang choices mo, lahat ng kotse may pintas![]()
Heard or read somewhere......matipid lang hybrid cars sa malalamig na bansa. Pag sa pilipinas baka mapunta lang lahat nung power sa aircon niya.
I'd go for the City. Proven fuel efficient... and in certain, very special situations, can do over 140mpg. (the legendary 60 km/l Honda eco-run) and can do repeated 50 mpg+ (23 kml) runs if you drive it right. (take note, the Prius claims 50+ mpg, but gets only 40's with the aircon on due to heat in traffic).
Who needs an expensive hybrid? Save the environment. Buy a smaller car.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I'd rather stick to either a City or a Vios. Though one may be able to save on gas with hybrids, maintenance on parts may be expensive in the long run.
Do you believe that a hybrid would survive our regular floods and potholes?
Actually hybrids are for people who have a perception that small cars are unsafe , and prefer a bigger car yet still want the fuel efficiency. Specially since there is only a very few diesel sedans being sold here and not one of the major car manufacturers here offers a diesel sedan na A/T.
I actually wanted to buy a Honda jazz for its fuel efficiency but my Dad wouldn't allow me to get one due to its small size. He thinks that it is unsafe and would easily crumble in a collision against large trucks plying our city streets. Even if Euro crash test prove otherwise. He keeps telling me that the size of a jazz will be no match against a big truck in a collision. So the only other option is to wait for the new civic hybrid to get the fuel efficincy i want in a car..
Wait for the new Civic 1.8... it's supposed to have the fuel efficiency of a 1.5... and seeing as the old Civic 1.7 won a fuel economy contest in Canada (as well as getting over 40 km/l in AT form in Pocholo's hands), I don't doubt it.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
im in orange county now
the honda hybrid is here na, as usual all the new cars are here
bulok talaga sa manila...
the hybrids beautiful but i dont know bout the saving gas thing thou
ill post pics here sometime, mostly i see them in white
Actually i was surprised that honda didn't release the civic the same time as they did in other parts of the world. Previous gen civic's release were only a few months apart.Originally Posted by raine_s

really? why do you say that?Originally Posted by ale828

i guess there is a price we have to pay for having stringent safety and clean air standards.
speaking of the car market, thanks to good financial markets a new college graduate can own a new BMW M3. thanks to (still) cheap gas prices owning an Expedition or Excursion is still relatively affordable. thanks to safety and consumer laws i'm far less likely to buy a lemon or a deathtrap. thanks to competition i have 10 dealers within 50 miles fighting to sell me a car at a cheaper price. i haven't even talked about the huge, well-maintained highways that you can blast down (bring your radar detector)
yes, it's a shitty market :bwahaha:
ever owned a car in Europe or Japan?
Hybrids and sporty driving doesn't come together always. Top Gear rated the Prius one of the worst understeerers of its class (is it a subcompact? is it a proper sedan?).
The Prius is a compact, just like the Corolla.
It understeers badly because it has low-rolling resistance tires, and an electronic stability program that has to work overtime to keep it on the road. Thin tires=poor grip, but terrific fuel economy. If the Prius had the same tires as other, regular road cars, it would probablylose about 2-5 km/l off its claimed highway economy.

Well, for me I don't really care about performance especially living here in Metro Manila. Heck, I can't even make decent 120 km/h both in NLEX and SLEX... So the point of having a HYBRID is consuming less gas and flaunting your money. PERIOD...
