guys, i have a 2010 civic with unleaded fuel. sabi ng iba mas ok daw pag premium kakarga mas malakas ang hatak at mas magiging ok ung makina in the long run (i have no idea if that's true). sabi din ng iba pwede dn ung blaze 100 octane much better than unleaded. ano ma susugest nyo? should i remain with unleaded or change to premium or blaze (petron)? thanks so much

a car with your year model? oks lang yan kahit ano.

new engines aren't picky with fuel anymore... most will deliver the same fuel economy and power. that's because the new ECU fuel maps are more efficient at adjusting to lower octane fuel than, say, 15 years ago. tsaka iba na pagkakagawa ng mga makina ngayon, mas high tech.

I agree. Perception lang yung sa maraming owner ng newer cars (2000 up models) na mas maganda pag premium or whathaveyou fuel. Marketing ploy to make us spend more.

If your car cannot use higher octane (sa manual mo pag nakalagay 91 octane and you load with 93 or higher, the effects are "perception" more than real) then don't bother spending more.

Older cars benefit mostly because the car itself is in bad shape. More expensive fuel have better cleansing agents hence it cleans your engine. I suggest such persons use a cleaning agent (acetone comes in mind. small doses in the 1:1000 ratio clean your older engine nicely). Sparingly not too regular though. And this thing is cheap compared to so-called cleaning formula (snake oil naman most of these) or fuel injector cleaner garbage.
