Planning to Buy Honda Civic 97

Hi guys, bago lang po ako dito sa forum, I'm planning to buy Honda Civic 97 model on the first week of January 2012.
Nakikita ko karamihan sa classified listings puro Automatic transmission, tanong ko lang po sana kung ok din ang automatic? Possible din na tumipid ito sa gas? Makakabili ba ako ng maayos na ganito sa halagang 180K below?

Mas kumportable talaga pag automatic. Ang hindi lang ok diyan, kung hindi inalagaan ng husto ng unang may-ari. Mahal yan ipagawa. Mahal pag nasira. Kaya risky bumili ng automatic na lumang kotse.

suggestion lang - if you could save more money and buy a much later one, the better. since you are on a very limited budget, you are looking at not so nice cars. they are being sold for the price that is not so budget friendly. moreover, they are being sold because they are old and problems are creeping up. your next biggest costs will be insurance and maintenance costs plus additional headaches. don't do it. but it is your money. it is you who is going to pay for it - not the people from this forum. your choice.

my friend's AT civic 97, gets around 7-8km/l Ok nadin yun, considering na old car na.. Yung Matic mahal lang pag may nasira sa transmission, di siya pedeng repair na patingi2, you have to replace the whole tranny.. And check niyo if smooth shifting pa sila and orig padin tranny,,

kaka pacheck ko lang this year nung transmission ko sa Honda SPA, hindi pa cya sira. Alam naman natin sa Honda SPA, konting sira palit agad gusto. kakapagawa ko lang last week at last last week ng trailing arm bushing, yung Arm sa rear at engine support sa Servitek cost me around 6k. the rest ng mga pinagawa ko this year lang.

guaranteed walang hidden problems na need ipagawa. selling at 220k.
