sir, i had my car checked sa honda. this is what they quoted me for
    1. overhaul gearbox assy
    2. overhaul p/s pump assy
    3. replace lower arm assy (front, both)
    4. replace shock absorber (from, both)

ung item 1, since indi nila maoverhaul.. they had it replaced.
ung item 3, ok na din ung lower arm ko.
ung two items plang ang npapagawa ko.

now, may ingay akong naririnig sa hood ko when driving the car or after driving while the engine is still on.
ung noise is same as when the A/C is on.
sometimes, nawawala ung ingay pag i-ooff ung A/C.(take note, "sometimes")

i had it check sa local mechanic at sbi replace ko daw ung A/C compressor.
which do u think is true? AC compressor or PS pump?

Establish first what kind of noise? Can you describe the noise in words (ie. squeaking, grinding, whining, hissing, rattling, etc.)?

Pa check mo muna sa gawaan ng car aircon baka bearing ng aircon compressor ang naririnig mo.

thank you for all your replies.

it is more of a rattling noise that sounds like a pulley bearing noise.
it is particularly loud when i turned on the A/C while accelerating.

Compressor bearing can be easily replaced as long the mechanics have the right tools (Bearing puller, bearing fitting tool, circlip pliers, etc) for the right job. Thats the trouble with some backyard mechanics, if they can't repair a certain component, just replace with a surplus/ used one.

yan din po ung na noticed ko. the last shop/mechanic i went to, 2.8k ung price na ibinigay nia. compressor bearing din ung problem na sinabi nia. included na sa quoted price ung cleaning, freon at labor.

what do u think po? ok na ba ung 2.8k?

i think, observe mo muna kung saan nanggagaling yung sound, mahirap kasi kung di ka sure na sa compressor yan galing. while the engine is on turn on also your a/c then open the hood. observe it. if sa compressor nga ang problem, yun proceed to aircon mechanics. pero sugestion lang huwag ka pumunta sa mga tabi tabi lang na a/c shop, baka gumana that day the following day hindi na much better if established na shop ang puntahan mo atleast meron warranty.

    salamat po.

gnun po ung gnawa ko, turn on the engine tpos open the hood then ung A/C nman.
sobrang ingay pag naka on na ung AC. as if there is a motorcycle passing by.
pag nka off cia, tahimik ang paligid.

i am based in olongapo and wla akong alam na malalaking shops d2. sa loob nman (sbma), kumukuha lang cla ng A/C mechanic sa olongapo din.

seems i really dont have a choice, do i?
