    Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™)

Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC® technology, VCM™ quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates the three rear cylinders, depending on the driver's needs. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine while cruising.

I think it was replaced by Honda Elyson. I just visited the japanese webiste. IMO, the China made-JDM Ody looks much much better than the USDM Ody (kulit ko no?).
    Honda Elyson:

Oh yeah, you're right. I had a mis-interpretation of the japanese character on the specs. Thanks for the correction.

c'mon man...were you driving downhill? That is an exaggeration...
The Odyssey is electronically governed to top out at 117mph....(i subscribe to car and driver)....
hmmm, who should I believe, a SUBSCRIBER or the ACTUAL DRIVER. But e-knowing Macky, I dont think he has any reason to exaggerate.

    Abangan...

    edit:

But most automobile magazines does not test the car to reach the max speed anyway. The data was provided for by the Manufacturer. Most of the time, manufacturer does not post the actual numbers for safety or whatever purpose it may serve. Kinda like the "gentleman's agreement" in Japan.

I think C&D does do all their tests inside a track (0-60, quarter mile, 60-0 and top speed) - i dont think they can do those test legally on any public road. Since most speed limiter (including Mbenz and BMWs *155mph) are done electronically, it is impossible to go beyond their preset limit.

So, im guessing, either he's driving downhill and/or he's driving the same direction with the wind.

ayan ka naman kapatid, ang layo ng sagot mo sa post ko which you quoted.

I hate repeating myself over and over again.

I wasnt talking about whether they do the testing on the track or electronically. I was talking about manufacturers not posting the actual speed limit nor the realy HP.

READ: gentlemans agreement then maybe you can relate.

Kapatid....alin ang malayo don? I was merely answering to what you said that manufacturer's not posting actual speed limit...
I agree that they post the manufacturer's advertised HP/torque numbers but i disagree about the performance (0-60, quarter mile, braking and top speed)....if my memory serves me right, C&D has been posting their actual numbers using laser and third wheel attached to a vehicle to measure performance....

Regarding "gentleman's agreement" well...it may be true when it comes to advertised HP/Torque numbers as i previously mentioned...but.....let me ask you..when was the last time you grabbed a copy of a car magazine? They do actual test comparisons and they rank them and they give their pros and cons......i dont think they would criticize any car if they are gonna just give favors to car manufacturers.......

I dont grab a copy of a car magazine, it gets sent to my door. ;)

I know better not to believe Car Magazines when it comes to testing. Do you really think they are not advertised driven magazines?

It doest matter if they do the testing on track or on the road. (read this over and over again until you get a better understanding of what I was trying to say)

    ILuvDetailing,

the 2.4L engine is for the JDM Odyssey, while the V6 is for the larger USDM version.
