Tanong ko lang mga ka-tsikot...Nakakalakas ba ng fuel consumption ang racing filter(simota) at headers? Sabi kasi ng tropa ko ay hindi daw. Pero meron naman nagsasabi na oo. ano ba talaga?

Not really. Given you keep your stock chambered muffler.

More air in, same fuel maps, same exhaust end (stock muff) = lean burn = fuel economy = hotter engine temp

depends on how you drive. i have a nissan sentra 1.3gx, underpowered talaga so i had IHE upgrade. FC is better for me, from 6-7km/l improved to 9-10 km/l city driving, it can also do 14km/l highway instead of 11 km/l na fc niya nung stock pa.

If you want to produce more power, here is something to keep in mind...

It takes more fuel to produce more power.

So by themselves, an open air filter and headers don't lead to increased fuel consumption. But if you want to feel the benefits of having those upgrades, then you need to burn more fuel.

kung clogged at super dirty na yung "racing filter" mo, yup, it can submit to a poor fuel consumption.

in my case, i have a simota and 3" headers(4-2-1) + 2" downpine on my ZZ few years ago, it feels less restriction when accelerating and the rpm kicks faster than when equipped with stocks but my FC plummets 7km/l after two months of use. the culprit is i have a heavy foot that time. so even driver's behavior comes into factor in having a bad FC.

summary, expect increase in fuel consumption, since something is altered on your intake and exhaust.

Just a reminder to those who use Simota racing filter and other brand to always keep your air filter clean . If its dirty your car will consume more fuel and accelerate slower.
