    update lang mga sir...

    car: Rav4 1st gen, A/T

    Primary Problem(s): engine hesitation -- parang sinisinok pag binigla mo apak sa gas on idle or running
    gas consumption -- running only on 6kms/liter; used to run on 7.5-8 city driving
    engine / transmission power loss -- hirap umabot sa 3k rpm when running, shifting is not good as well

    History: Ondoy victim; batteries were removed during Ondoy, everything cleaned and dried thoroughly (took more than a month to dry it out) specially electronic parts. all oils been through a lot of cycle, transmission went through transtech

    the experience:
    went to motor doctor last week hoping they can pin point what the car's problem is. dami ng suggestion on which one to fix and check. not that i trust my research, but the expense is a bit high if i follow all these things!

    so i decided to go to motor doctor (MD). 1st tool na ginamit yung diagnostic tool nila. but walang error nakita. though may na observe sa diagnostic na kakaiba: fuel injectors width is not proportion sa rpm reading and throttle position is not showing correct reading (still at 5 degrees when 5k rpm and above).

    next is to do compression test. all 4 are good.
    then fuel pressure. still good.

    so nilinis ang injectors and removed tps to check if cleanable. unfortunately, hindi nakuha sa linis ang tps. or hindi sya cleanable. so i have to order the part sa casa.

    kanina lang kinabit ang bagong tps. then nag re-scan and ok na buga ng injectors and ok na din reading ng tps. havent tested thoroughly the car, yung problem pa lang sa hesitation ang nawala. so far, pag shift ko sa R or D, responsive na agad ang oto. unlike before na halos 2-3 seconds pa bago mag respond (meaning gagalaw mag isa pag di ka nakaapak sa gas).

    will update ulit pag na sukat ko na fuel consumption ko and if shifting has changed. i'm hoping na maayos na lahat.


    cost breakdown: 2.5k (diagnostic and minor troubleshooting)
    1.5k (injectors pull down and cleaning)
    2.4k (brand new TPS)

    total: 6.4k <---- ouch!

    * Nyagi, may updates ka na about sa fuel consumption?
    Balak ko kasi dalin VTI ko na matic para ipa-check since i'm getting 6KM/L City driving.

    napa-ayos ko na paps... 2k lang.. kasi di nilagyan ng bagong idler... pero labor lang yun..walang kasamang pyesa... nilagyan lang ng epoxy yung sa servo.. di ko parin nachechek hanggang ngayon kung nag-improve.. kasi nung nagpa-full tank ako, natanggal yung isang socket.. kaya mataas parin menor, so magastos parin... then, binalik ko para ayusin, ayun nga, may natanggal lang daw na socket.. ngayon naman, di ko na nagagamit.. nasa garahe lang.. dahil ayaw magstart... other prob naman... di ko alam kung anong nabasa noon.. kasi nagka-leak, at may napatakan... pero maya try ko ulet.. baka nadiskarga lang baterya... update kita paps pag ok na FC ko... sa pque lang din yung shop.. si jedi nagrefer.. ano nga pala yung link ng club ng lancer?? pls message mo nalang sa akin. ano pala result ng FC mo? ngimprove ba? TIA

Motor Doctor diagnostic services - any one tried em yet?
