I recently bought a 2nd hand car and had it micro etched for pnp clearance. Does anybody here know how to remove the nasty yellowish stain on the car's vin/ serial #?

i believe that's acid in there. and i think your only choice is to clean it with water and re-paint the area.

thoroughly clean the exposed metal part. Apply the rust converter (recommended bronco brand) then repaint it. Applying the rust converter is to stop any build up of rust since the metal was already exposed....

ako i use baking soda mixed with water (make paste like solution) and rub it to the affected area to neutralize the acid and rust... then clear spray paint to stop oxygen on further rusting the metal...
