August 1st, 2010 11:21 PM #1The key ignition of my car is hot as well as the key when I remove it. What is wrong?

I am thinking the contact points in the ignition is dirty and not providing enough contact area. This results in a smaller contact area to handle the same current which ends up heating up. This might result in a melt down or a fire.
Have it serviced (if possible) or replaced.

Looks like a short. I had a similar problem in my old car before. I had to replace the whole ignition assembly. Have it looked immediately before it gets worse.

Back then it was P2,500.00 for a Nissan. Not sure how much now and for your car.

The key ignition is usually isolated from the various operating currents through relays (so, it provides the logic turn-on/off only)....
Have you removed and bypassed relays lately?
