my newly bought honda city type z 2002 model only does an average 9-10km/l on both city and highway even though im always on the normal driving of only 80-90km/h max, some says theirs ca do 14-15km/l and some 17-18km/l...fresh p itong car ko...

can i do something about its fuel consumption?
o hanggang dun lng talaga ky nya?

hope somebody could help me about this...thank you very much!

    9-10km/l aint bad.

17-18km/l is nearly impossible unless the car is driven on a controlled environment.

I own a City Type Z, between 8 to 9 km/ltr consumption of fuel (city driving), 9 - 10km/ltr is just right, highway driving might be 10 -12km/ltr. (Based on my experience.)

    ano displacement ng Z mo 1.3 o 1.5?

your figure is actually decent especially kung metro manila route mo.

used to own a 1.3 Z, CAI K&N filter, headers, 17in mags, wrap around kits, 10km/l city driving is achievable (though laguna area ako)

check your engine oil, maybe its due for an oil change already. use reputable motor oil brand like mobil1, motul, RP or shell (semi or fully synth)

isipin mo din kung nakahinto ka palagi sa traffic. pag nakahinto ka sa traffic you get 0 km/liter, you know. might wanna factor that in you next compute.

10-15/liter is possible with a straight highway, moderate speed, konting hinto hinto lang. why, i get 11 on my v6 2.0 car basta tuwid at walang tao sa daan.

17-18? kalokohan yan... ano yun prius hybrid car?

my 1.5L sx8 can do 10-11km/L, city driving, i would expect your 1.3L can do better. baka driving habit lang try early shifting, avoid sudden stops/acceleration etc..

possible naman yung hangang 16km/l. i have a lxi than can do 14-16km/l sa highway. kaso may kasamang gliding.

    9-10km/l aint bad, i get around 10-12km/l mixed highway/city.
