In that case, you are forgiven..
Might I ask, does your car have a sensor connected to the exhaust? Some cars do... Baka na-disconnect...

Any and all sensors are connected to the PCM, if they are bad or disconnected illuminates you malfunction indicator light and sets a trouble code once the event happens two times or two start-drive-shut down sequence( two trip detection mode)

Seems like a short cut procedure done with your car. Yes, you might replace uli ng exhaust manifold gasket, if you remove the upper part too.

CKF (Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor) ang pinakamalapit na sensor sa Oil Pan. Dalawa to, yung isa nasa distributor. Retarded timing will result to poor acceleration and reduced performance.

Para makita timing belt ng civic, kailangan mabaklas muna ang crankshaft pulley to remove the cover(lower) and exposed the timing belt, tensioner bearing and water pump.

You got this far of guessing and hoping but there is no mention of checking engine intake manifold readings. Taking the scenic guess and hope approach makes it longer

How old is your civic? Stock exhaust system pa rin ba? Just a tip. One of the few things mostly replace parts in an old vehicle aside tuning its engine, is replacing the old stock exhaust system. Once replaced with a new one(OEM type), you may feel a big difference in performance and good fuel mileage.

Oops! Sa HP or performance, talagang ma-feel mo ang difference after changing it. Sa arangkada at rekta na takbuhan.

Maganda naman bro. Stainless.
