Pero before it was done changing gasket, normal at no abnormalities in driving performance? Maybe I will be more concern in checking the area of the oil pan, where the gasket was replaced, checking and looking for any possible leaks of oil.

July 26th, 2015 04:07 PM #3That should be easy to verify.
Have the car lifted or crawl under it. See if there is exhaust gas leak. Tingin rin sa engine bay if the exhaust manifold is ok.

Waste of time. Run the engine and have somebody with good hearing listen for sound intensity. A simple engine vacuum at idle will tell you and the coolant temperature will slightly be elevated together with engine knock with engine warm

Install a vacuum gauge to a non-ported vacuum source( one that is behind the throttle plate such as the brake vacuum booster hose) and observe the reading (17-21 inHg) at idle, if it is out of range, there might be vacuum leak at the intake. Since you did not use a thermometer to measure temperature and since more than likely you glanced at the instrument cluster or the driver information panel, you must have taken note where the pointers of the gauges stay or if you have a digital cluster it must have given you numbers.
