Honda Type 2 Coolant

ask ko lang sir if pwede ba yung mga 50/50 coolant ng other brand like Peak, Polar or Aisin on Honda?

my Honda city 2009 is already due on coolant replacement na din based on the manual. i think factory coolant pa sya since it is blue.

I asked nearest honda casa and they were selling type 2 coolant pero provided na sila magdrain and fill which is pwede ko naman gawin.

i heard pwede na daw bumili from honda qc tapos ikaw na mag drain and fill sa bahay niyo or wherever you want to do it.

Pati nga oil dun din namin binibili. Straightforward lang. Sabihin sa parts ano kailangan, kuhain nya sa bodega, bayaran konsa cashier, claim ko sa parta counter, sakay sa kotse.

Type-2: Super long life coolant, all season anti-freeze coolant type-2.
So ung type-1, hindi anti-freeze?
Ung manufacturing date, sticker nakadikit sa takip.

that's the new packaging for philippines only (afaik). if you read the packaging it doesn't say country of origin most likely repackaged yan dito sa pinas, from drums

meron anti-freeze qualities lahat yan, coz the ingredient that raises boiling point (glycols) also provides anti-freeze at no added cost

ang difference ng type type1 vs type2 is the anti-corrosion chemistry. type1 is "conventional". type2 uses organic acid so the factory fill can last 10yrs.

If you plan to keep it, better go with genuine Honda Type 2. Kahit mas mahal, amortize mo lang ng 5 years in your head and it's not going to be all that expensive.

factory fill coolant is good for 10yrs. then replace every 5yrs after that

honda type-2 doesn't have 2eha (which is a cheap inhibitor used on cheap coolants) which supposedly attacks silicones/rubbers/plastics

on my suzuki i'd probably use type-2 as well

I think once lang ako nagpalit when I had my Civic FD for 7 years.

Huwag kayo order sa shoppee ng type 2 honda coolant, puro fake. Tried to order 1 liter to check kung orig and super duper fake.
