Honda SIR - why ang daming haters?

Tumbok! madami sa intramuros niyan around year 2000, naalala ko nung panahon na kainitan ng SIR lahat ng ubod ng angas ganyan ang mga itsura! lakas ng loob wala pang tint amp*ta. siguro they are trying to compensate yung itsura nila.

Ako gusto ko bumili ng LXi MT -- hirap maghanap ng VTi MT, eh -- tapos salpakan ko ng b18c turbo. Close to stock lang yung labas syempre.

Pero bigla ko naisip, nevermind ang mahal magmodify ng Honda. :hysterical: SR20DET nalang or 4AGZE-T or even a 4G63T. Mas mura pa. Hahaha!

My first car was a used 1986 box-type 1800 lancer and I thought I had the fastest and nicest car that time. Then I bought a brand new honda esi and I thought I was at the top of the world! Then I had it replaced with a SIR and then jazz and then jimny and finally added a livina. And I realized the car is only as good as your current needs. If you are single and still trying to "collect" girls then perhaps the SIR is for you. My point is there is no bad or good cars. Just ambitous and pretentious drivers.

Mahal po kasi ng Ebolusyon, eh... lakas pa sa gas.

A friend turbocharged his RS... pretty nifty, pretty quick... then he took a ride in a friend's STI... felt pretty bad about it afterwards.

The SiR itself is a decent car... good double-wishbone suspension, nice ergonomics and shifter, lovely engine... but it's old. Compared to more modern front-wheel drive cars, it lacks chassis stiffness, it understeers and the brakes suck (well... the brakes sucked even then... no ABS FTL...)

My RS wasn't much slower and could run rings around it on the racetrack.

An FD Civic 2.0 MT or a Focus TDCi MT would run rings around it anywhere and everywhere... the only thing the B16 does better than the local "155 hp" K20 is rev high.

Times move on. The only thing left that the SiR does better than anything else in the economy car segment is hold a ridiculous resale value.

Which is basically the point of everyone here. The SiR is a good car and had it's time under the sun (and on the drag strip), and those days are already over; no matter what you do with it and whatever you do with it, mapa-Mugen, DC Sports, BEAK, Spoon, fork... etc. its still an old econocar and there are now other big fish on the road if you want to have the "K".

Agree with this and still don't understand why.. Supply and demand, mabilis, maporma, but it is still an old car.. Three years ago muntik na ko nakabili nito but nakita ko yung ES civic ng friend ng mom ko mas pinili ko yun kasi mas bago at may sukli pa ko sa price ng 2000 SiR. Then after a few months nakabili pa ko ng brand new Adventure dinagdag ko pa yung natipid ko sa ES civic ko.

It's so light that when the carburetor floods and the engine cuts out, it still goes very fast when I push it! :D

they will only hop in if you are driving an executive euro car -- BMW, Benz

or even exotics -- Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches -- thats why when you see the owners of the said exotics they look normal sometimes ugly but their girlfriends are jaw dropping!

also some girls like SUV's so they can bring their barkadas with you whenever a plan is formed

I have been reading here in this site so many negative things about the Civic SIR... bakit kaya ang dami comments ng haters like;

- "sobrang over price yan for that age" - so what kung over price pinipilit ka bang bumili? or ingit k?
- "luma na yan, matulin lang yan dati nung kapanahunan niyan" - luma na pala eh bakit naduduling ka sa kaka tingin!
- "wala yan SIR na yan iwan yan sa SUV ko" - kakahiya ka naman kung maiwan ang 3.0L or 2.5L na SUV mo ng 1.6l
LANG na luma pa car...

Hays. this only proves one thing ang dami paring may gusto sa SIR , modern classic! So to all the haters and bashers keep on dreaming. we all know deep inside gusto mo rin mag karuon ng SIR diba
