Yes, it's not the car but the attitude that goes with it. A lot of tsikot members will still stop to admire a well-kept, stock SiR and that car has earned it's own right as a classic. But it's already passed it's prime and there are many, many more cars that have taken it's place as the toy for the big boys.

If i were you, I will quit it. Sir is nothing but a glorified civic. If you will allow yourself to live in the real world, you will realize that there are so many cars that are better than your car. I have an Si, packs more punch than yours but i don't brag about it because a stock sti will leave my car in dusts.

Dude, there are more better cars than yours. Stop clinging to your old old car and start moving forward. You will have more bragging rights if you drive a hybrid car than an old clunker.

Some years ago i was following a series of articles on SCC where Honda had a contest in the US with several publications that were given EK Civic SIs (two door SiR) with a budget and some parameters to work around. During the track competition, Paul Tracy, the designated driver, sent some of them home on a flatbed or killed some of the cylinders. This was because the only way he could get the SiR to run fast through the corners was by hitting the rev limiter all throughout the corners on first or second gears.

At the Subic short track during RWYB in the early 2000s, its the same story. I would see some SiRs and B16 engined Civics making up for lost ground during the straight but the other cars following behind would still catch up on the turns (in spite of the timed flag off intervals between competitors). They could only get so much power at the high rpm range.

answer: it's because of owners like you who uses it. the SIR was a good car, not great. this is one of the many little reasons why i bought an STi, when i'm driving it, kapag nagc-cruise ako ng around 60kph at may naririnig akong broooom! from far behind me, humahataw na SIR or any other modded car at umabot at nakasabay na nila ko, biglang bumabait at tumatakbo nalang din bigla ng 60kph or 50kph. bakit kaya?

Actually, the STi is a good speed controlling vehicle on the highway. I actually have a theory thought that years from now, the SiR story will be the same for the STi once resale values drop and more surplus units find their way to our streets.

but suby sti is not comparable to an econo box SIR.....SIR is not even a Type R.....may lumabas ba na 4dr civic na Type R aside from the FD2R?
