I agree with everyone here. Try asking another auto shop and please tell us what's wrong with your car. The thing that they've told you that they need to rebuild the engine, you should become suspicious because it's not cheap. What's the name of that service center, by the way?

marami kasi ibig sabihin ang rebuild, if you wish to bring it back to stock is one esp kung todo mods ang ginawa diyan ng previous owner/s. i suggest bring once to casa and have it checked para may checklist ka if ever gusto mo pagawa sa iba and the same time may 1st opinion ka na. good luck

thread starter, sir, paki elaborate naman po ang problema ng car mo para matulungan ka namin sir...di kami makapagbigay ng suggestion/opinion namin sayo kasi incomplete po yung write up mo sa about sa car problem mo.

nabili ko sya last month. kala ko kase ganda ng porma at wala akong alam sa kotse newbie tlga ako. pinatingnan ko sa service center at ang sabi kailangan daw ng rebuilt. malaki ang magagastos. kaya daw ganun eh dahl ang SIR daw eh nalalamog ang makina sa karera. sabi din sa akin dapat daw hindi SIR ang binili ko dahil naabuso daw tlga to ng may ari. help naman po ano ba gagawin ko?

May kilala ako mekaniko ng SiR ng father ko, dalhin mo sa kanya kung malapit ka sa Novaliches. Morris ang pangalan niya pero wala ako contact info. Anybody here knows the same person? Honda owners? Kilala siya sa Novaliches area with Hondas.

turbo46989 * Usually transmission lang ang nasisira sa SIr )Flywheel , release bearin). pero kung kinalikot ng dating may ari yung makina nya like port polish rebore, piston resize.. patay kang bata ka.. hindi kaya yan yung SIr ko? laspag nga yan... Joke! heheheheh

My cousin recently purchased a second hand SIR 2000 thought at glance it is a very good bargain (P345k) but there are a lot of problems. Here are car problem which were discovered 2 days after.

1) when the car gets to about 4000 rpms the check engine light comes on
it starts to hesitate to the point that its about to die and sometimes the light goes off and the car runs fine, sometimes under 4k rpms it runs fine (no hesitation) checked all the fluids, had the timing belt replaced, tune up, spend already thousands pesos but the car seems behaving abnormal specially above 4k rpm
2) sometimes the car is not immediately responding when pressing pedal
4) s!!!!!!t overheat!

some says the problem is/are: oil pressure leak to rocker arm?, damage oring? low oil pressure? ano ho ba problema?

any suggestions or any one have any similar problems?
btw how do we know the vtec is functioning?

obviously, may tama yung engine niyan... pwede po pa check yung code ng check engine kila speedy fix.

sa pagbasa ko, parang oil pressure nga prob kasi nawawalan ka ng power after 4000 rpm. the only way to know is have the code checked kung ano yung proc ng oto... meron DIY niyan sa HCP.

It's tough to guess exactly what type of problem you're talking about. First thing you should do is bring your car into any reputable shop to check the code.
Anyway, it seem's like fuel pump or head gasket problem if loosing power above 4000 RPM. I dont know if that means stuttering or what, but its probably something to do with fuel or timing or cracked head gasket. However finding a qualified mechanic would be in your best interest. Good luck!

It could be the timing as what v6dreamer said. My mechanic told me that when you floor the pedal your car will hesitate if your car has wrong timing. Better have it checked

where po ba Speedy Fix, or reliable casa shop, I already have bad experience with honda cars san pablo and it is the only closest casa in our area, definitely cant suggest to my cousin san pablo.

I've seen some EK(SiR body) roaming around with 18's.. but for me 18's are too big for the EK body parang hinde mo na mapansin ung koter yung gulong lng titingnan mo, and parang naka tip toe hhaha.. If you really want blings the go for 17's with 40 series tires.. 15s and 16s ay yung sakto para sa akin.. suggestion lang to.. sundin mo pa rin ang gusto mo.. :D

yes, it fits fine. make sure you get the rims with the right offset and probably 35-series tires. also, since malubak jan sa pinas i suggest you have your fender lip rolled.

to avoid the wheel gap/suv-look, you also will need to lower the car a little bit...

gud day mga car fanatic.
im a avid fan of honda SiR and im planning to get one.(cash on hand)he,he,he.
but as i read a lot of thread regarding SiR nagdadalawang isip ako regarding sa mga problema ng 2nd hand SiR.so nag divert ako na "ano kaya if ang kunin ko na lang ay 2001-2002 model na VTI (vtec3 ba yun?)di naman nag kakalayo ang pricing nila or 99-00 vti or lxi (both SiR body).
Do you think guys its a good decision or hanap pa rin ako ng sariwang SiR?

sir the thing kaya halos same lang price ng 01-02 civic with the 99-00 civic kasi people favor the body of the EK (SiR) over the ES (dimension).

if i were you if ill get the SiR in a heart beat over the ES. mas maporma and damn that 1.6 DOHC b16a. ang lakas talaga...
