how can we know that SIR has never been raced? i noticed that most posted Sir ads herein tsikot has selling statement: never been raced. which is very hard to believe

sir there is a way... theres a mark where the intake manifold and the head comes together... parang red line ata yun.

so if the head was replaced then bolted back on, hindi na papantay yun... thats how my friends look at engine kung sariwa pa talga.

Hi! I'm new here.. I'm planning to buy 2nd hand Honda SIR (passion orange).. Just like to get feedbacks for those who had bought 2nd hand SIR..

After you bought the car, madami pa kayong ginastos sa pag change ng needed parts? in good condition ba ang nabili nyo? Are you happy with your 2nd hand car or nagsisi lang kayo? How much nyo nabili? Kaya naba 350K budget for 2nd hand SIR?

sir im no SiR owner pero SiR body na lxi yung akin... things to look out for and the simple solutions they have

stab link and trailing arm bushing --annual replacement
sol -- buy the 555 brand para mura and mas tumatagal pa kesa sa OEM

power windows rear stuck up -- sol wd40

foam like things lumalabas sa aircon -- mostly kung bagong linis
sol -- max yung blower then sungitin

water getting inside the trunk -- usually sa tail light gailng nanggagaling
sol -- hanapin at lagyan ng epoxy pero kung sa tail light lagyan ng duck tape.

eto lang yung yung naisip ko ngayon, good choice of car sir! mag lang maaddict sa vtec, mahal na gas ngayon... hehehe

sa 350k possible yung SiR 99. pero market value is still around 370k-390k for the 2000 model.

Welcome to Tsikot...When you buy a second hand car nothing is perfect...expect that there would be repairs to be done....just be careful when inspecting the unit or better yet bring along your trusted mechanic and test drive the unit for any defects....An Sir is a very desirable car to own...with your budget of 350k you may get a 99 Sir model...take time in considering a unit and good luck.

the first SiR is a fine car... pero expect that around 80% of the units you'll see have been modified in some way. hinataw, or in some cases, inabuso ng husto at pinagsawaan kaya binebenta na. the fact that very limited numbers of this model were bought doesn't help any... so mahal at karaniwan mahirap ang naging buhay ng mga units na makikita mo.

350 should be plenty budget for a full stock lady driven unit. a person selling his SiR for 450 is dreaming and/or a fanboy, so unless it's got a full nitrous and turbo intercooler setup in there, i won't buy it.

why don't you check out the SiR II? civic ES body, K20A engine. at stock, sibak pa rin lahat ang lightly modified SiR Is if you drive it correctly. these SiR IIs madami pako nakikita here and there, panay stock lahat gawa ng hindi nila maihataw kasi automatic.

and you know what people always say... wala sa transmission yan, nasa driver. bakit ba si jason bourne sibak lahat ng kalaban nya eh dala nya karag karag na austin mini lang... hehehe

Hi Sir, Newbie din me sa tsikot and i just bought my SIR last year December as a Birthday gift ko sakin. you really need a good and trustworthy mechanic para icheck yung car. swerte naman at may tito akong mekaniko at syempre swertehan nalang din if walang hidden deffects yung auto na hindi naman kayang icheck barehandedly nung mechanic.well sa tingin ko naman karamihan naman sa mga pinoy ang talagang malaga sa kotse nila lalo na pag pinaghirapan.
ok naman yung car kahit na nasa kulang2 90k na yung mileage nung nabili ko e minor palang naman ang mga sira like mga locks or windows.at nasiraan narin pala ako nung parang switch (limot ko tawag) nung fan sa radiator pag mainit na kaya inabot ako nang overheat sa daan.after that wala pa namang obvious na sira.

I just bought my SiR last march 400k, 62k mileage, taffeta white, personal plate,lady owner.. so far wala pa naman ako pinapaayos, change oil pa lang, sabi ng mechanic from caltex, nasa condition ang makina, maalaga daw ung may ari.. swertihan lang talaga, naka momo steering wheel at naka setup ung sound with seperate pioneer DVD player and AVT LCD monitor. take your time lang bro.. sa honda club may nakita ako dun passion orange 2units pa ang available.. just check the site. gudluck

hi, i am also new here and i am a girl.. hehe.. i bought my SiR last year as a birthday gift from my parents. madami nagsabi na SiR's aren't for girls but i really love the car. i chose passion orange kasi 4 me yun talaga ung color that shouts "im an SiR"..so far, sa 1 year na yun, wala naman ako pinroblema. change oil lang, medyo nagloko ang central locking at power windows. minsan pag nasa mall ako, madami lumalapit at nagtatanong kung di ko daw binebenta and their offers are a lot higher compared to the price kung magkano ko siya binili. I REALLY LOVE THE CAR! here's a picture.

Ive had 2 SiR's already... im very very happy with it... tipid, malakas... pogi... right now, wala pa akong maisip na ipalit...

Also, yun lang ang SiR na nilabas locally... no such thing as SiR II, sorry... DOHC VTEC, yes, but not SiR II.

paps, new lang ako d2 sa tsikot, based on experience re: 2nd hand SiR ha, i also bought a 2nd hand SiR, 2000 model formula red, kasi yun talaga dream car ko eversince lumabas yung model na yun during my college years, no regrets ako paps, so kung gusto mo talaga ay 99 model SiR na passion orange, go for it! re: fuel consumption naman, mine consumes 10.4 km/liter, mixed driving na yan, kasi di ko masyado pinapaputok vTEC, mahal na kasi gas, its really ideal for long drive, may power pero di naman ganun katakaw... and usually sakit ng SiR ay yung sa may vTec sensor, pinapalitan lang yun ng goma, or minsan kahit threebond lang na gasket ok na..

Aside from fuel consumption, how much is SIR spark plug and what is the best spark plug for this type of car, i heard that changing spark plug is also part of regular pms of any gas powered vehicle.

The key in finding a good SiR these days is persistence. A friend of mine finally found a really good one after nearly 6 months of hunting. All stock, Championship White from a lady in Mandaluyong for 420k.

But even that had the usual EK bodied civic problems namely Front Stabilizer Link bushings, power locks, rear passenger doors being noisy when opening and closing. The engine is in good shape with regular PMS done at Honda.

For me these problems are worth the trouble especially that it is now considered as a cult classic among car enthusiasts who are still fascinated by this 'four door sportscar' Parts are aplenty especially for the common problems stated above with 'more reliable than OEM' choices that will last you years of good performance - at half the cost.

If you are only for the SiR look then you can scout around for a good 2000 VTi (SiR body) then slap on the OEM Enkei rims, body color the side mouldings, paint the window trims black and you are good to go!

IMO do not get the VTEC-3. Sabi nung mekaniko ko who works at honda, the VTEC-3 was a lemon car. Madalas sirain at madaming problema. Labas pasok sa casa. He did not tell me kung ano yung mga exact problems since bawal daw ipagsabi, but from hearing what other people say mukang suspension and underchasis yung usual problem.

Hi guys,experts, drivers gs2 ko lang po sana humingi ng tulong from all of you.... I have few questions regarding sa bibilin kong sasakyan and It would be nice if you can answer.

Newbie lang ako pagdating sa sasakyan so here it goes

1. Pano ko malalaman if this car is really a Honda SiR? the reason is that madaming honda na ginagawang SiR look? SiR nga ba e2?

2. What is the difference between Honda SiR and Honda Vtec SiR? Sorry I really dont know if these two are the same.

3. As you can see in the pictures the car plate number is starting with letter "U" and nag tataka lang ako why letter "U"? most of the Honda SiR I've seen is nag sstart sa letter "W"?? what does it mean? correct me if I'm wrong.. may kinalaman ba e2 sa year ng sasakyan kung kelan xa lumabas?? if yes dba ang letter "U" is for year 1998? pro ang pinag tataka ko wala nmn honda SiR na 98 dba? kasi pag kakaalam ko 99 at 2000 lumabas ang model na e2??

4. How can I find out if kung anong klaseng engine xa? sabi kasi ng owner b16b xa and nag research ako about it and nakikita ko lang difference between b16a is their colors.. but is there something else pano makikita ung series model ng engine??

5. And last po gs2 ko po malman ung sarili sariling nyong pricing ability regarding Honda SiR.

Experts please help me with this one ayaw ko po kasing maloko kahit kakilala ko e2ng mag bebenta saken... malaking pera kasi ang lu2stayin ko.. salamt po tlga
