It seems they (few filthy rich) are their target customers here. If one is even a Honda lover, then the price may not really matter to him/her. With the price, Honda does seem to position the Pilot as their luxurious/prestigious SUV, and may be hoping to rub this effect/image down to high volume sales/profits for their 4x2 gen2 CRVs.

The big problem is that the Pilot and Murano are both CBU, which creates the high price and taxation. Factor in that both are low volume vehicles that require bespoke maintenance equipment and obviously the dealers are going to charge an arm and a leg for them.

Not that they're not going to make a gross amount of profit off of them.

    RE: ACCORD... FINALLY! NEW BUTT!!!!

the new butt of the accord still looks so-so... not as elegant as the mazda6's or even the sonata.

the rims also doesn't match the bodystile of the accord. I would have preferred the old rims though.

the twin tailpipes is a nice touch though.

I agree. Mazda6 does look better. Tingin ko parang Sentra yung butt nya (Accord). I like the previous Accord's butt better.

waaah, 2.6 million for a Pilot that's boring and cheap interior.

If you choose between the two, I'd take a Black Murano anytime. Yes, they are equally priced pero mas maganda ang design ng murano, cleaner looking dashboard, BOSE sound system, 6-speed tranny w/tiptronic and lots of other features.

If between the two, I'd definitely go for a Black Murano instead.

I like the butt. It's much too conservative, but it makes the car look more cohesive anyway.

By the bye, a lot of supposedly 30k dollar cars sell here for 2.5 million or more. Like the Evo (3+), the Nissan 350Z (3+), the Murano (2.6?)... that's an average of 600k-800k over US list price.

The Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer (2.2 or so...) comes in a bit lower because of the Ford presence in the RP, but that still represents a 400k premium.

Whereas 25k dollar cars come in nearer their tag price: RE: the entire Subaru line-up, mostly 25k cars coming in at around 1.6m, which is an average 400k premium.

As you can see, every small increment in the US price multiplies the Philippine price instead of merely just adding to it. It's not just greed or unrealistic pricing... it's the sad reality of official, tax-paid imports.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
