Honda FD Taxi

I'd love to see a Taxi FD. sa mahal ng fare ngayon, atleast you get the worth you are paying for.

I've a Lancer (itlog). 'Been with me for 14 years. Lotsa taxis of the same make. No big deal. When I go to Cambodia, my taxi service usually sends a Camry taxi to fetch me from the airport. One time, they even sent a Jeep Cherokee. Not a new one but stil, it was a Jeep Cherokee. One time, they even sent a Puegot. Last time I visited Malaysia (March), the taxi service we call usually sends a Cefiro.

Honestly, it's only here in the Philippines (I think) that car owners are "saddened" when they see that a cab is the same make and model as their ride. To most coutries, it is no big deal. Fact of life.

i agree on this! wala naman sa brand yan, pare parehas lang yan na pwedeng gawin taxi nasa owner na lang talaga, let say kung yung mercedes/bmw mo gagawin mong taxi be ready for the higher maintenance cost pero most of the hotels/company here ginagawa lang nila taxi/cab yan kasi nga kaya nila yung maintenance. dito lang sa atin talaga hindi pwede ang honda pero in other countries pwede naman. tama din siguro na gimmick lang din ng honda yun dito sa atin, kahit na hindi ginagawang taxi mataas pa din sales nila kasi nga pag sinabing honda pwedeng sabihing "sosyal" o mas angat sa toyota/nissan/hyundai/mitsubishi, pansinin nyo mas mataas ang resale value nila.

tanong niyo yun mga nagsasabi meron daw documents na pinipirmahan na bawal gawin taxi pag bumili ka ng Honda, and more often than not hinde pa sila nakakabili ng brand new Honda puro second hand lang.

alam mo naman mga pinoy comment ng comment di naman muna tinitingnan yung facts. wala namang contract or anything na bawal gamitin na taxi. just try to read the warranty booklet or borrow from someone if you don't have one.

i think the waiver form is really stupid (not that honda can do anything if i use it for public transpo anyway). The car is made to transport people and using it as a taxi will really serve its purpose, more than home use. Sa singapore may mga taxi sila na mercedes and you dont see mercedes complaining hehe. It's like buying a clock and telling me not to place it outside my store.

If it's made into a cab, I clearly and honestly do not see anything wrong with it. If I have cash and wanted to buy a Honda to make it a taxi, Honda cannot impose the so-called "contract" or "waiver" that I cannot make them into a cab! Why? Because it's my car and I can do whatever I want to do with it, legally, like use it privately, for car rentals and yes, a cab. Most of all, it's my money.

I just think Honda's are over-rated here in the Philippines. There is absolutely NOTHING prestigious about a Honda, nothing. No offense to Honda Fanbois/fanatics. For the record, we have 3 Hondas at home.

What's the big fuss about Honda being a Taxi anyway? Like a previous post to this thread has pointed out, a Benz is used as a Taxi in Europe, and other high-end cars to boot.

I just did my own "mystery shopper" job calling LTFRB, LTO Diliman, and a Honda Dealer. These were the results if a Honda can be made as a taxi.

LTFRB - They allow Hondas to be converted as taxi, so long as it's not more than Five years old and it's color white. (Your second gen Honda City and Honda Civic FD V or S qualifies)

LTO Diliman - Since this also covers LTO branches nationwide, they allow the registration of Hondas with yellow plates

Honda Dealer (Yuchengco owned) - They allow the use of Hondas as taxicabs. No such thing as the so called "contract" and they will support it. No idea from Ayala owned ones.

SUMMARY: There's no such thing as a contract and Honda would allow you to use your car as a taxicab. Go ahead and use your Honda as a taxi. Except daming chicks lalapit sa iyo
