October 5th, 2010 12:06 AM #1I'm a newbie, I really need help. I had my first car more than year ago, 1995 esi matic. Kainis kc lagi nlang may lumalabas na bagong sira at lumampas na sa price ng bili ko sa car yung nga2stos ko just trying to keep it in running condition. Recently naputulan ako ng crankshaft so what my mechanic(already done an overhaul job last year, "overheat") did was to replace it with a surplus(total costs for the job, 35K). Tried nmin ibalik kc may backjob, mausok. But mechanic is asking for more money. Grrrr... so went to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion, kya daw mausok maluwag na daw yung 2 butas ng block, di na daw fit sa piston.
I would appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

you should have opt out for a surplus engine replacement in the first place. imho.
you should have compared first the cost of overhauling or replacing the engine.

October 5th, 2010 12:25 AM #3If could only turn back time so I guess that's the last best resort. Anyway, in case umabot sa ganon, where can I get a good engine replacement and how do I get about the registration with the new engine number if it's from another car?

white smoke means you're burning coolant. in short head gasket ang malamang na culprit.

headgasket or cracked cylinder head OR something as simple as worn valve stem seals (400 yata ito isa, or for 4 na).
if i were you, wag ka na bumalik sa mekaniko mo. dalhin mo sa specialists kasi hindi owner type jeep yan kahit sinong mekaniko pede gawin.
kung block/pistons/headgasket problema, much better pa na bumili ng surplus na makina. mura lang makina ng honda na maliit... d15b costs about 30K and its a straight swap.
pwede yung makina ng VTI or LXI jan. BASTA SPECIALIST ang babanat. madami talyer dito na recommended, basa-basa ka lang. wag sa gumagawa ng FX or owner, bibirotyahin lang nila yan.
