LULUSONG sa BAHA,ano mga kelangan gawin?

Tip naman po diyan kung lulusong sa baha especially sa mga kotse at manual transmission.Last thursday kasi,baha na sa araneta.ang dami nag-aalangan lusungin pati ako,e honda civic vti '97 kotse ko.Gusto ko na ibalik kahit magcounter flow nako pero dami din car sa likod ko.Sinundan ko nalang yun mga kotse na lumusong.Awa ng Diyos kinaya naman.Ang alam ko lang kasi paglulusong sa baha lalo na sa manual transmission ay huwag magchange gear.

Kung magchange gear ka, do the heel-toe technique. LOL. Kasi kapag hindi mo ginawa yun, mag-baba ang rpm at ma-vaccum ang tubig. Kaya kung hindi kaya yun, wag na magchange gears.

if the water is higher than half tire huwag na ninyo ilusong. maraming gago magmaneho sa baha taxis, trucks, saka other private motorist, ang bibilis magpatakbo ng kotse kaya yun wave eh mapupunta saiyo

ako kapag ganyan ilulusong ko sa baha, I always stuck at the first gear na lang hanggang sa makatawid. Nadala na ako noon, namatayan ako nung nagshift ako in the middle of the flood from 1st to 2nd gear medyo bagito pa kasi ako noon,

Never ever change gear when fording a flood. Low gear na agad pag lusong.

Hindi baleng mabagal ka habang lumulusong sa baha at mataas ang RPM . Kung mabilis ka at maaring mabasa iyong mga electrical wire mo lalo na iyong may mga distributor at high tension wire maaring pumalya makina mo lalo na pag abot na sa Fan ng makina iyong tubig.

having experienced what you went through although w/ diesel engine...same as mentioned above w/ additional input just the same underneath components naman be sure after you went thru the floodwater don't turn off the engine for awhile, open the hood for any presence of water if there is specially in carb engines, constant checking of brakes to avoid sudden stuck up and check transmission by changing of gears to also avoid stuck up of clutch lining w/c happened to me last ondoy i traverse half tire flooded street that night for 3 hours before reaching home & the next morning altho i was able to start the engine but the gear won't engage cost me 25k lang naman for that...

Some tips on fording the floods of Metro manila:

1. Make sure your car doesn't have holes on the floor where water could get in. Not only is the resulting mess a pain to clean up, you run the risk of ruining some parts (e.g. rusting of seat rails). Also, as it would be good to have gotten an undercoat just before the rainy season.

2. Check the vehicles in front of you; estimate how high the water would go up against your car.

3. Choose the lowest gear appropriate and stick to it once you're in the water. Proceed at a steady pace, slow enough to avoid splashing water all throughout, but reasonably fast enough to get out of it as soon as possible. don't stop, don't change gears, if driving an M/T, foot off the clutch!

7. When in doubt, don't.

8. After the deed, wash your vehicle as soon as possible, especially the underside.

Remember to lightly press the brake pedal for a while after you have exited the flood. This will aid to remove water from your brakes and let it be ready to stop the car anytime.

If your brakes are wet from the flood, your car will not have the same stopping power as compared to if the brakes are dry.
