Currently, here in the US...there is a Civic Si (SiR in Canada):

it has 160hp (compared to the Phil version Sir years back with an inflated 165hp) from a 2.0 liter engine (compared to the 1.6 (?) from the Phil version)....Base price is about $20K which, if sold in the Phils, would cost about Php 1.8M to 2.0M

The Civic Si is the ultimate Civic. With its 2.0-liter, 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC® engine kicking out 160 horsepower, you'll never be at a loss for power, whether it's from a dead stop or when passing on a freeway. Inside, the console-mounted shifter and high-bolstered front seats have the look and feel of a performance race car, while standard 4-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) give you the confidence to push the envelope with your Civic Si. Premium interior features like a power moonroof, power windows, mirrors and door locks and an AM/FM/CD audio system with 6 speakers ensure that you will ride in comfort, and added protection can come in the form of available front side airbags.

The current Civic Si never really caught on unlike its predescessors. Even sa US sales are not that good.

Expect a better SiR the next time around.

There's only one engine available for the current Si.....so to answer your Q, yes, they flopped...2 liter engine is considered small by US standards - so no big deal if it has a 2-liter. Even the 160hp rating isn't impressive at all.

The 1.6 was a favorite because it was sold worldwide (it penetrated markets where cars 2.0l and above were heavily taxed) and its success meant lots of mods.

100bhp/liter pa ang bragging right ng SiR dati.
