Call up Honda Tarlac and try to coordinate with them on your car's problem. If possible have them contact the nearest Honda dealer. Kaya yan... konting assertion lang.

Ako, when I got my City, I noticed that the car was covered with a bazillion dealer installed swirls. (Well... I didn't notice them when I picked up the car...mebbe I was too excited.)

Anwyay, I called up Honda Kalookan, and complained. They apologized and agreed to have my car detailed. They even went to my house in QC to pick up my car, and drove it back once they removed all the swirls.

viper..congrats to your new car! pero have that checked right away since that really is abnormal. check mo rin sa trunk mo kung meron ding nag-se-seep na water, specifically sa tailights area..check mo yung carpet cover if its wet..if it is, kailangan i-seal kaagad yung butas dun.

go check this thread for more info --> honda city and jazz thread

peeps thanks a lot for the advice, im back in the office and brought the car at honda makati. i left it there since it will take them the whole day to check it, they wanted to check evrything and change all necessary parts that have to be replaced. the people and service is great, considering they have a great lounge area.

As i was about to leave, nagpakuha ako ng cab, the lady at reception said they do have shuttle service at 1030am, i signed it up and wlang nangyari, driver was complaining that no one (customer) wanted the shuttle at 1030am.that was a very lazy task, driver reasoned out that he made rounds inside while im outside waiting for him to service me and bring me here at paseo, i was running late also considering that its my lunch break. driver said, wlang may gusto at mamayang 130pm na daw. tatawagin ko na sana and give him a peace of of my mind, but didnt have time to do that. ****ing lazy driver. they offered that service and dey didnt deliver, thats really sick.

i'll have feedback of the car later, sana slowly but surely and paggawa nila and i really love that car, it was a hard choice considering that tinapatan ng nissan ang price ng honda. Prior in getting the city, nissan sgx 1.6 sentra all power manual, was offerd with the same price. and a lot of freebies, they really needed sales, d yata cla nakakabenta.

i got honda, because i knew the service is great and car has best gas and mileage consumption. and im happy with the car indeed, i wish im there at casa right now and watch the car being checked and repaired.

i actually have pictures of the new facelifted city, its confidential but some1 was able to provide to me, i consulted a lot of Sales Representatives and their Managers opinions as well, and said that it will have a price increase of at least 40k.

I wanted the purple mica manual with 1.5vtec coz i travel, i feared that the new facelifted might not be that beautiful (iba pa rin ang actual na masakyan compared sa picture dba?). and the price increase would make the cars price unreasonable (my opinion) coz as it is, my vtec 1.5 with all options (abs, ebd, srs etc..) is 660k, plus 40k increase, tpos expecting EVAT increase, car would hit 720-750k. and its not a full sedan, if thats the price, dagdag konti, pwede na mazda3 or honda vti-s civc manual.

ah yes i forgot the zx has a price increase from the current city, in essence you'll be paying for the makeover pa rin. good thinking.

Sana maayos yong "leaks" sa City mo Viper. Feedback mo kame kung ano naging problem at paano inayos. Di nga normal for bnew yan.

Tingin ko (my opinion lang) baka weather strips. Pag di lapat kase may chance mag seep in (pin size drops) yong ulan. Tapos tutulay yan sa window sill at maghahanap ng babagsakan sa carpet flooring (near running board).

O kaya yong plastic cover sa likod ng door trims? Baka di masyado naayos nong nag additional rustproof ka kaya?

Pero now that it's in the casa, it's gonna be in good hands sana na.

PS: pero bat ganon driver sa makati? parang di taga honda e...lahat ng nakakausap ko sa casa (mkna) e matitino so far...hmmm...

viper, 40K increase from the previous city?..sabi sa akin 20K increase lang daw..sa tingin ko kung exterior changes lang ang ginawa, 20K would suffice. but we'll know the real price on monday :D

anyway, charge it to experience na lang yang driver na yun..i bet not all honda casa have those kind of employees..so far we are more than satisfied sa service and attitude of employees at honda manila.

our neighbors here at the condominium also felt sad for me with my situation sa water leaks ng auto, i got feedback last saturday from the casa that there indeed is a water leak in the roof. oil sealant is busted right from the start even before the unit was released to me. honda makati action plan is to order new parts needed to be replaced and service the unit for free this week.

Solution is good, but not appropriate. This car is defective right from the start, so yesterday, i talked with my sales representative and demanded a change unit. the car is just 3weeks old and looks new, 500kms on mileage (bcoz it travelled from tarlac to manila) den my trip for a week is stamesa-makati, makti-sanbeda-stamesa.

Its unfair on my part to suffer and have a BRANDNEW car with water leaks. I didnt buy a BNEW car just to inconvenience myself, and waste time in having it repaired. I love this car a lot and i've worked hard earned money to purchase this. I dont deserve to get a unit with a defect. I deserve to get a unit "guaranteed" brand new.

My sales representative as of 5pm yesterday, said that her managers are deliberating on my request. and im expecting a feedback from them today. bec of that water leak, heavy rains here in manila caused interior and backseats to get wet. as of now, i already see dirty marks on my ceiling inside the car. interior doesnt even look like bnew anymore bec of those leaks.

question: we also noticed that some body parts are not perfectly fit, hindi proportioned ang body. its a small issue, d naman halata unless some1 meticulously evaluates the car. is this normal?

ano yong oil sealant? sa roof? san exactly pumapasok tubig? sa lining ng roof? sa rear glass rubber strips na nakapaligid? Enlighten us nga para we can have an idea of the defect...

I don't think this is just cosmetics issue...if you're talking about the accessories and add-ons na easily replaceable...yea. Pero kung pinag-uusapan e yong integrity at build quality ng car (how basic and exacting must you be with the sealant, windshield, glasses, doors, etc? Alang compromiso yon....especially if substandard installation and application will lead to further damages to other parts like ceiling, floor, pillars, whatever. Baka simulan pa ng kalawang yan e. Besides, e kung stop-gap lang ang solusyon? Babalik at babalik yan.

Yong mechanical issues...it's easier for them to get out of it (claiming abuse or ordinary wear and tear)...even so, most mechanical issues can (and are meant to) be replaced or repaired in DUE time.

Chassis issues are different. Unless nabangga na yan o antique na, e di dapat may tulo o kalawang. This is clearly a lemon unit. Nothing short of replacement (IMO).

'Pre, document your car's problems and send a formal, written complaint.

I don't own a Honda but since you ask for advice on how to deal with the dealer, here's my experience:

Oral advice, that is, word of mouth complaint, has a tendency to be ignored and your complaint about the car just taken for granted. That was my experience about the noise on my car (annoyances, really, nothing serious) which I complained suspecting it was a symptom of impending problem. It was not given much attention, other than cursory tightening of bolts.

So I wrote a formal complaint, faxed it to the National Kia Distributor Service Manager, faxed the complaint to the dealer's service manager, emailed the complaint on Kia's online feeback, and mailed by snail post the original written complaint. Within the day, the National Service Manager of Columbian Autocar himself called me up to schedule an inspection of my car with one of their plant's engineer. Result: my Picanto's muffler was replaced- yap. The whole line. Ugly under-carriage noise gone.

Since then, my delaer has been very accomodating everytime I visit the case for scheduled maintenance.

I also work on a company dealing with customers and its an established fact that people really work hard if they have a PIECE OF PAPER to refer to. I'm not sure why.

But I can bet that once your dealer have a document about your problems written by you on their hands, the gears of their internal bureaucracy would move faster.

Try it. Just make your tone non-threatening but leave no doubt that you are serious, firm and most of all, clear.

PS. While still shopping for cars last year, my friends and I went to about 6 Honda dealers and we noticed that the driver's door of the City on display had to be slammed hard to make it close to a tight fit. I saw one running on the road with the driver's side door clearly not closed well.

    Good luck!

guys thanks, but i still need your advice and help. coz nadumihan na tlga ang interior and they called yesterday, saying na available ang parts at pwede nang i-repair sa honda makati, i myself told the warranty representative my situation and that im requesting for a change unit. he says he will coordinate with the plant to process my request.

what if the plant's decision is unfavorable? what can i do?

pwede rin that they's be lazy to change my unit since this is not the facelifted version and special color pa sakin (purple mica).

definitely, they will have to make a new one if wla na clang stocks nitong lumang city.

pls help me and give me some advise on what steps to undertake in case i get an unfair resolution.. thanks

The Honda casas on the northern-side of MM are owned by the Ayalas and have frequent complaints from Honda car owners. I suggest you get a good lawyer to prod them a bit.

    Three things:

    1. ano body parts ang misaligned? Exterior panels? or interior accessories? Can you elaborate.

    2. I think not the northern (but southern) --- alabang, makati...owned by ayalas.

Pero pare-parehong under the umbrella of HCPI yang mga yan.

    3. You might want to visit these:

    http://www.hondaclub.com.ph/forums/

    OR

    http://www.hondaphil.com/

pwede ka mag email ("contact us") whichever branch or the HCPI itself sa latter site.

If I were you, I'd press for a replacement too. But don't worry yet, ala pa naman decision. In the meantime, maki arrange ka for a substitute car dahil sa abala at "inconvenience" that this is causing you.
