Perhaps only ASEAN countries will get the ASEAN Honda Civic.

Hi guys! Just came from another visit to the Honda Cars Plant... Psylocke's City ain't there anymore.

Btw, they have test assembled 2 units of the new 2006 Civic there. But, they're not showing it to outsiders, yet. I've seen a pic in one of their banners, though. It's the JDM model alright. They're targetting 10,000 Civic units by the end of the year. Full production will start March. The guys at Honda are saying that a hybrid model will be released locally. But, it's gonna be CBU. Prolly assembled in Japan.

    This is scary.

Now even the quality of a brand new car could be ruined by reliability issues due to manufacturing deficiencies at the Sta. Rosa Plant.

Seriously, is HCPI doing something to make sure that build quality would be the same as that of Thailand-made units???

Kasi if HCPI won't give a sh*t, then I'm keeping the New Civic off my list of new autos.

CBU Hybrid Civic from Japan? Thats going to be very expensive.
I wonder how they will price it, my guess is in the P1.4M-P1.5M range.

I hope they come out with a wider range of colors for the FD Civic unlike with current model where you only get black, white, silver and differing shades of gray & beige. They should always have basic colors like red, green, blue, etc.

    * Tentative Information only
    * Variants and colors are for information purposes only
    * Prices, sepcifications and final model and color lineups to be announced
They still didn't have pics or showroom models at the show, pero kung JDM nga yung looks, okay lang.

    Points of interest:
2.0 MANUAL... FINALLY!!!! Speed freaks, the SiR replacement has arrived. Unfortunately, it's going to cost a lot.

1.8 Manual: if this is going to be their bread and butter car, wow.
    - 8.2 seconds to 100 km/h (as tested by Autocar, same as or a little faster than the Ford Lynx RS)
    - official fuel consumption of 12/17 km/l city/highway... (may be even better in eco-challenges than the old 1.7)
    - and it's coming in two versions, so there will likely be a sports version.

Even if this all pushes the 'base' Civic price into the 800's, I think I've found my "back-up" car.

1.3 Hybrid. Though the information is tentative, I think Honda is now daring Toyota to put their money where their mouth is. Toyota's been crowing about the Prius for almost a year, but no word on importation... now they have to step up.

No specifications as to price yet, and I'm betting they'll only bring the Hybrid in if there's demand, but kudos to Honda for jumping the gun. :D
