i agree with mbt... and i think the engine churns out a reasonable amount of torque naman eh.

my point exactly. the cvt and lightwieght characteristics of the car will make up for the lack of horses. Max torque comes at 2800 rpm kaya siguro malakas na rin ang hatak kahit low revs lang. yung civic and city na older gen, nasa 4000-5000rpm range ang max torque.

imo, the new engine ng city is kind of a shift in design philosophy ng honda. before: engines that needed to be revved high to squeeze out its horses and torque. now: more conventional engine na high rpm ang hp but torque maxes out at lower rpm.

Are you talking about the gaso-electric engine? If yes, then the City is not hybrid.

The hybrid production cars today are the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight.

it'll be a bigger wow if any car-maker would release a hybrid powered car in the local market. This could kill the income of some gas companies.

cost of purchase and maintenance could be an issue...pag nasiraan kc ung ordinary carb engine, dalhin ko kahit saan e may makakaayos...hybrids might need a diff breed of mechanic

Yup. Honda was actually test driving this in Subic a few weeks back...

Kelan kaya ang Civic with CVT? Ang 2004 Honda Catalog for the US already showcases Civics with CVT (lahat ng Civic sa US 2.0 ang up na yata engine). *sigh*

    Sorry for being off-topic.

Diba the local City comes from Thailand? I looked at the website of Honda Thailand, and I was surprised. The Thais not only have the 1.5 liter IDSI engine, but also the 1.5 liter VTEC engine for their City.

Sana HCPI brings in the VTEC model mated with a M/T para sporty.
