i agree with mbt... and i think the engine churns out a reasonable amount of torque naman eh.

15 kms. per liter? Highway Driving?
Ha! Ganyan rin yung sales talk nila
sa akin when I bought my Echo...
Its not as matipid as they claim it to
be...
my point exactly. the cvt and lightwieght characteristics of the car will make up for the lack of horses.Originally Posted by ssaloon

imo, the new engine ng city is kind of a shift in design philosophy ng honda. before: engines that needed to be revved high to squeeze out its horses and torque. now: more conventional engine na high rpm ang hp but torque maxes out at lower rpm.
Are you talking about the gaso-electric engine? If yes, then the City is not hybrid.
The hybrid production cars today are the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight.
di sya hybrid. 1.3L dsi engine yung nakasalpak sa city... petrol motor.
OT:
there are rumors that honda will release the 2.0L i-VTEC civic within the year.... WOW!!
it'll be a bigger wow if any car-maker would release a hybrid powered car in the local market. This could kill the income of some gas companies.
Oo nga, less pollution. Di ba sa Die Another Day yan. Nasaan na diamonds mo?
oo nga pala bakit nga ba ayaw nila maglabas ng hybrid dito eh sa ibang bansa meron na naman..too expensive?
cost of purchase and maintenance could be an issue...pag nasiraan kc ung ordinary carb engine, dalhin ko kahit saan e may makakaayos...hybrids might need a diff breed of mechanic
meron din civic hybrid. wow if lumabas 2.0l civic may competition na rin ang lynx rs..
Yup. Honda was actually test driving this in Subic a few weeks back...Originally posted by ssaloon

Kelan kaya ang Civic with CVT? Ang 2004 Honda Catalog for the US already showcases Civics with CVT (lahat ng Civic sa US 2.0 ang up na yata engine). *sigh*
Sorry for being off-topic.
Finally a worthy contender to the Lynx RS. i wonder if the other mannufacturers will follow suit.![]()
Just called up a dealer. Next week daw lalabas.
Any early bird news if it will be just be available in CVT A/T? Leather interior?
Diba the local City comes from Thailand? I looked at the website of Honda Thailand, and I was surprised. The Thais not only have the 1.5 liter IDSI engine, but also the 1.5 liter VTEC engine for their City.
Sana HCPI brings in the VTEC model mated with a M/T para sporty.
