I have also experienced this in my 2003 City iDSI M/T. The feeling is just like nag fuel starving and nag jerk, but during one of my PMS schedule sa CASA, the na e replace yung fuel filter, but ganon parin. This happens during acceleration. The jerking happens paminsan minsan lang naman.
Ano po ba problema nito? I've been driving this car for 14.5 yrs. Dati wala naman. In short hindi naman seguro sa pag timing ng clutching, shifting and stepping ko on the gas pedal.
Fuel consumption I don’t really measure but I can say it went back to normal.
For me the jerking was really solved by replacing defective ignition coils and going back to original honda spark plugs. Still happy after 10.5 yrs of ownership

[emoji106][emoji106]

I had a similar problem with my 2008 Honda City idsi. It jerks and does not engage immediately when placed in Reverse. When I brake, then release the brake pedal (on D), it takes awhile before the car moves forward. An experienced Honda mechanic said this is a common problem of Honda city, jazz and Fit models which has a similar design. The problem is with the flywheel where the springs loosen over time. Apparently there are 2 types of flywheel daw, a thailand made where the springs are exposed and a Japan made where the springs are encased. My city had the former. The mechanic replaced it yesterday with a surplus flywheel (from Japan daw) with encased springs. He cleaned the throttle too and replaced the engine mounts. Surplus flywheel cost PH 3500. Total labor of 5k for the mounts, flywheel and cleaning. So far after a 30kms drive, no more jerking on R or delay when shifting from N to D during a full stop. Will see how long this lasts. After reading several posts, from various Asian forums including Tsikot, the flywheel design and build seems to be the problem. According to the mechanic the springs on the flywheel loosen which causes the transmission to jerk and vibrate.
[QUOTE=Rick21;3054419]Sir ecport..
Went to nis-hon at banaue corner quezon ave for the parts. Look for Lito, he is the mechanic. I think you can pay less than 3,500 for the flywheel. Lito charges 3,500 for labor including throttle cleaning. I replaced the cvtf too. It took Lito about 4 hours. Just be aware, no guarantees with surplus parts.
Thank you

Nakaon ba aircon mo that time?
Nangangatog ba siya when you put it or leave it drive habang nakabrake?
Bumababa ba idle below 800rpm?
Recently just had our 2008 1.3 i-Dsi CVT suffer through something similar and immediately brought it to Honda.
Re pangangatog, nilinis ng Honda yung may control/regulate ng idling. I think it is called Throttle Body Controller (I referred to it as idler when I went to casa). They also replaced all my spark plugs, sabay na din full change oil.
Walang issue CVT ko, but it was 4 years since may last CVTF change, so pinasabay ko na lang.
After that, meron pa din shuddering while in drive from brake/standstill bago siya gumapang, though at least di na bumagsak below 700rpm yung rpm ko.
Schedule ko kasi ng PMS after warranty was 3 years outside casa ang service, then 4th year sa Honda. Medyo napaaga lang itong pangangatog. So since 11 years old na din yung unit, ill change intervals to 2 years outside and on every 3rd year sa Honda na lang para sabay yung CVTF replacement.
Hello 17Sphynx17,
I have a 2008 1.3 idsi a/t. Other symptoms are low idling, delayed shifting, jerking engine. Sa akin, never naman ako namatayan, pero parang mamamatay every time I shift. Baka rin electronic ang problema - spark plugs or the coil. If your car jerks when placed in Reverse, there's big chance it's the flywheel. I hope this helps.
Hi! My City's issue had been resolved. Honda cleaned the Throttle Body Control (not 100% sure if that is what it is called but basically it controlled the idling "level"). Also replaced all spark plugs and changed oil. After Honda Service, car was running way better, no jerking anymore. Ignition coil, they didn't find any issue.
Idling issue, still shuddered a bit more than I was used to and Honda did inform me that my AC needed cleaning after 10 years of ownership but I didn't have it done there. Had it done outside in a trusted talyer that works on our out of warranty car aircon. Shuddering further reduced but still present. Last resort was changing fuel choice from 91RON to now 95RON. Problem is almost completely gone. =)
Prior to that, I had another "shuddering" incident 4 years ago. They found it was a wheel bearing issue as the shudder/jerk always presented itself when I was executing a U-turn or full turn. After they replaced the bearings, problem was also gone. I can't remember if they also replaced flywheel. It's in the folder of service records I keep but will have to dig through it to find it out.

Hope you did more research because that specific generation had problems with its CVT tranny. Anyway nabili mo na. On the bright side, that car is very fuel efficient as long as you take care of it.
Jerking might be caused by ignition coils. Since you’ve already changed the spark plugs. Individual naman yun so just replace the faulty one.
Bout your issue with the steering, there are these “torque sensors” mounted on the steering rack that senses when you turn the wheel, they give signal to the EPS motor to assist in steering. These might be your problem.
