-I have 2007 City AT, pero nung 2013 started having problems with transmission, at first I experienced the blinking "D" indicator then the car suddenly felt slowing down as if running out of breath/being choked until mag complete stop na sya. Sliding problem daw yun.

-CVT fuel was replaced pero everytime magchange ako ng gear from N to D may delay, especially REVERSE. hirap na hirap sya mag reverse.

-Sabi ni HONDA need daw palitan buong transmission and siningil ako around 100k wala ako choice kaya pinapalitan ko na.

-After the repair/replacement im no longer experiencing the transmission problem.

-may nagadvise sakin na flywheel lang daw ang kailangan palitan and not the whole transmission.

-140k na yung mileage nya btw, and ipinagdadasal ko na lang na sana wag muna sya tuluyang masira habang naghahanap ako ng solution..

-please i need your expert advice... thanks in advance.

I had a jerking problem with my 2008 city idsi cvt everytime I try to accelerate and all we did was replace the defective ignition coils. Solved the problem in my case.

Agree! Own the same 2008 idsi and changed the ignition coils after 9yrs (orig surplus) but good as new and fuel efficient as ever! ;)

In my case when you try to accelerate from slow moving to fast by pressing hard on gas there’s a jerking motion...

Ako din Honda city 2008 idsi AT. started sa jerking ng engine in reverse and eventually even forward motion. nag replace na ko ng flywheel and flushing ng transmission oil. media nabawasan ang katal ng makina.
After 2 weeks from casa flushing, nag blink ang "D" and humina ang hatak. pinatay ko engine and tumakbo ulit ng maayos kaso nag fluctuate naman ang RPM.

I will try to replace the ignition coils with original surplus and probably the fuel filter. Sana mayos na din to

Ask ko lang How did you check the ignition coils if it is properly working no abnormal or intermittent flow of current? I suggest try to replace them ng Original Surplus para sure po... Saglit lang yan palitan then test drive it before you pay the coils payag naman yun mga nagbebenta nyan sa banawe eh...

Have you guys tried to change the CVT fluid? That generation was known to have problems on the CVT tranny

The flushing I mentioned which was done sa Honda Magallanes was actually changing the CVT Fluid. It didn't change anything.

Hoping that if I change the fuel filter this coming weekend mayos na problem ng auto ko.

If im not mistaken the problem is the tranny itself. That is why Honda revertrd back to a normal torque converter automatic transmission on the next generation.

Hopefully its fuel filter related like what you said. Goodluck sir

Many thanks Sir. Hoping din ako that it's just the fuel filter.

By the way, meron bang fuel filter replacement lang na available in any local parts dealer. Namamahalan kasi ako sa original at Php 4,200 + labor pa.

Just an update. Original Honda Fuel filter is Php1,800 lang pala my bad. The changing of the fuel filter did not solve the RPM issue. last Sunday i went to Evangelista and looked for ignition coils. 1 lang nakitang sira(the spring inside the coil was detached) sa harap. Isinabay ko na din ang change oil and oil filter pati na din changing of brand new front wheel bearings(2pcs). So far my Honda has greatly improved its performance. The jerking was minimized both forward and reverse movement, although personally hindi pa rin ako satisfied sa RPM (maybe paranoid lang ako or hinahanap ko yung dating performance nya 3 yrs ago).

May nabasa ako to reduce the distance of the spark plugs.... anyone knows how can this be carried out or pukpukin ko lang sya ng martilyo?

In my case testing the ignition coil with the honda mechanic (home service) was trial and error. He brought an original working ignition coil and had to replace each coil one by one and test drive to see which one is defective. In my case we found 4 defective coils. Replacing them with original surplus parts 2 years ago worked. I’ve never had the jerking problem since. Been using the car 6 days a week, average of 50km per day for 10yrs and it’s still fuel efficient as ever.

How much did it cost you sir for replacing the coils? Because i have the same persistent problem, i have changed spark plugs several times in the past months already. Plus yung fuel consumption was down from 15km to 7km on a long drive.

Japan surplus ignition coil was 1,200 each.

Also one thing I have noticed is that using original honda spark plugs made the ride smoother.
