    Guys help naman po..

I recently bought a 2011 Honda City 1.5e last May 20. Up to now hindi ko pa sya na break in. Puro po city driving lang ako. BTW this is my first car.

Papano po ba ang tamang pag break in and gaano po katagal? Mahahabol pa po kaya yun since ngayon pa lang ako mag start mag break in.. Sabe kasi nila mas gaganda ung FC ko if na break in ng maayos..

    TIA.

Drive gently. Don't rev the engine hard especially if you just started the engine.

Try to vary your RPM while driving. Wag lang nakastuck at a certain RPM yung makina lagi (I think I read this in the manual of our Civic).

Avoid hard braking (although minsan, unavoidable). Smooth driving lang.

In short, don't drive like an idiot.

Nasa owner's manual yung complete procedure. Pero generally ganun na yan.

Read the owner's manual. yan pa rin da best. If you want to be extra careful, change oil at first 800km and not wait for 1,000km.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else... Driven To Thrill!

You can breach over a hundred kilometers per hour but watch out your rpm reading, it should not reach 4000 rpm. Hence, going uphill is a no-no, for now.

just to be sure don't exceed 100km/h and be light on the pedal. if you want your car to be broken-in fast, try using your car for a long drive. a vacation to baguio or vigan perhaps?

drive it like you stole it... :D

kidding aside, try to use your car during long rides without revving too high or going so fast... thats just me though...

this is what i did... first few hundreds, drive gently... pero after 500 kms, hinahataw ko na basta di lang umaabot ng red line... went to Sierra Madre para maluwag yung kalye and its a long drive enough but not too far... sabay pictorial na ren...

btw, i've read before that engines are naka break-in na before leaving the casa/factory... not too sure about it though...

AFAIK I was told by the dealer that new cars today are already done on their 'break in'. Hence Honda no longer requires the first 1000km checkup. After buying the unit, derecho 10k kms na yung next PMS. I guess just drive it gently. Na break in na yan sa factory :D

^ Weird. Civic namin bought last 2009 still had that 1000KMs checkup.

Pero all modern year 2000+ cars are usually factory broken-in na.

Except of course for the brakes, etc. (Which is why you try not to do any hard braking just yet).

^Yun nga sir. naka lagay dun sa warranty booklet ko 10000 kagad. Hehehe wala syang first 1000km. It's probably because the 2009 Civic still had 2006 internals kaya they still follow 2006 service schedules? My car by the way is a 2009 City.

    Malamang ganun na nga.

Interesting yun. Although yung 1000KM PMS, wala naman usually bayad and good for an hour lang or so.

A little added convenience na rin siguro.
