March 29th, 2011 07:50 PM #1I have a question guys.
My gf bought a second hand 2001 Civic LXi.
I'm not really a Civic guy, so I wanna know what's the best engine oil and power steering oil to use for the car.
I also want to know where is the best place to get the a/c checked?
Hope to hear from y'all.
Thanks in advance

Kung maayos naman nakuha ninyong sasakyan palit lahat ng fluid . Engine oil, Transsmission gear oil kung manual Tranny , AtF fuid kung Automatic Tranny, Brake fluid , Flush Radiator and new coolant .Sa tune up change spark plug, air filter ,fuel filter . Check engine timing according to engine specification. I use Motul H tech 10W 40 fully synthetic sa sasakyan ko. Power steering fluid Castrol okay naman.

If this is the ES body Civic, have the CASA check also if the Top Dead Center sensor has been replaced (recall part). I had a similar Civic model for two years which experienced the engine shutting off suddenly for no reason at all and the culprit was the said TDC sensor; Honda only replaced it (take note, my car was already out of warranty that time) free of charge when i complained of the problem.
Since you just bought the car, change all the fluids, filters and belts.

There are shops like SPEEDLAB (quezon ave) and SPEEDYFIX (san juan) that can help you check the car and also help do regular PMS work on it.

They are affordable & have one of the better reputations in their field of work. Better than the overpriced service & parts and long lines at Honda casa.

March 30th, 2011 12:08 AM #105w-20 motor oil is the recommended oil for your 7th gen civic. stick with honda powersteering fluid if you can.
For the Toyota products its likely to be the case for most of their products per the service...
