June 2nd, 2011 09:14 AM #22Almost same lang FC nila sir pag parehas A/T. Minsan nga mas mababa pa FC ng 1.5 dahil hindi hirap ang makina and with the paddle shifters pwede ka mag shift early on lower revs. If you're going with the 1.3, mas ok kung M/T mas mararamdaman mo difference nyan with regards to FC.

*TS, the FC of my 1.3S A/T 2009 City is usually around 15-16km/liter actual combined city/highway driving. I wonder what's the FC of our brothers with the 1.5E. Care to share? :D

^ pag pure city driving sir, 12km/liter.
I should know yung dati kong car was a V6 Galant. :D

June 2nd, 2011 02:27 PM #27Should be the full 16valves getting to work. Kapag light acceleration ata, the L13 engine of the 1.3 closes the 4 valves for added fuel economy.
AFAIK, the 1.5 engine works more like the traditional vtec.

^ It could be that. Baka tama ka nga sir mda. Kasi pansin ko sa city ko, when i floor the throttle, aside dun sa downshift, mayroon talaga syang ibang sipa. Hindi yung typical na added throttle lang yung pakiramdam. Baka nga yung mga ibang valves nya nag oopen for the additional power. So far happy naman ako sa City 1.3. Economical, pero may punch din when you need to accelerate.

June 2nd, 2011 06:00 PM #30Depends on the engine when the VTEC "kicks" in (depending on the VTEC type, it may not even be a kick.)
Maraming klase ng VTEC (for new cars, all classified now under i-VTEC). Yung VTEC ng 1.3 (pati sa 1.8/2.0 ng current Civic), are more for just economy. Although meron din for performance (found on the on the Type-R).
Correction to my post above:
My bad. Parang yung 1.5 din yata, 12valve / 16 valve yung operation. (didn't read the article so thoroughly though)
