Help on buying a second hand CR-v

mga Sir, i'm planning to buy a second hand CR-V (second Gen. specifically 03 model). pahelp naman kung anu yung importante na icheck ko sa parts nung car na yun para masabi ko na good buy padin sha. baka kasi maisahan ako nung nagbebenta. hehe hope someone can help me with my problem. thanks in advance..

pahabol, is there such thing as CR-V 03 limited edition? hehe baka nasasales talk lang kasi ako sir, baka sticker lang.. hehe if there is, anu ang mga pinagkaiba nito sa normal CR-V.. thank you ulit ng madami mga sir.

first is the aircon switch and engine supports marami daw may problema dyan.
kumakain ba ng langis, pero normal daw sa gen2. search mo na lang yung iba
yung limited edition di ko alam. hehe

na pansin ko ng rin yan kumakain ng langis na replace ko na rin ang AC switch . anyway na benta ko na pala itong crv last year. matakaw kasi sa gaso grabe

AFAIK, merong limited edition yung CRV. Sound Cruiser yata yun.

But,.. If I'm in your place...
I wouldn't even think about buying a cr-v.
because first of all.. It's a gas guzzler..
I think Honda miscalculated the engine of the cr-v.
Go for x-trail.. only problem is.. its resale value is a bit lower.
Toyota has the highest resale value..
but the rav 4 isn't a bit roomy..
Go for Tucson..

FC in typical city driving (with A/C) based on my brother and brother-in-law's 2nd gen CRVs are in the 5 to 6km/L with feathering of the throttle already.

It's really a fuel guzzler. The 1st gen CRV gets much better FC figures. An alternative many 2nd gen CRV owners have done is to convert their CRVs to run on LPG and place the LPG tank in the storage area under the picnic table in the cargo space.

4 to 5 km/l sa akin, Grabe talaga. buti na lang na benta ko na. thank god na bunutan ako ng tinik hehehehehe

5km/ltr - very light on pedal as in no rapid acceleration, almost a turtle, speed not exceeding 75km/hr with a/c (no traffic po yan, if traffic sometimes 3-4km/ltr with a/c). whatever i do to save gas wala na po itipid pa sa 5 km/ltr

3-4km/ltr - rapid acceleration, hitting 3k rpm instantly and engaging vtec at 5krpm, highway no traffic.

never tried my crv fc if loaded with passenger, usually single ride lng po me.

im wondering if something is wrong with my crv fc but accdg to casa there is nothing wrong

not sellable in market CRV (like above picture) grabe talaga fc nito almost nagtatapon gas, i predict babagsak presyo nito in coming months, aside grabe parts niya, super mahal, nakakapulubi maintenance

I think your issue here would be the suspension...check in detail it's suspension and ask for the repairs that has been done especially the rack and pinion (ito ang madalas nasisira sa model na ito) plus be sure if 01 to 02 model it's fuel tank has been corrected (it has a recall order from Honda Philippines). bro, let me give you a second thought. i own gen 1 2000 model & gen 2 2004 model. both are AT and 4x4. my gen 1 can do 9kpl & gen 2 at 9.5 kpl at mixed highway & city driving with aircon always. while the gen 2 02 & 03 models are really gas guzlers, the 04 and above are not anymore. though they have the same 2.0 engine, the torque cap s are different. the reason for this is that when they introduced the gen 2 crv in 02-03, it was an auv category that will load 10 people, thus the engine should be able to able to pull such amount of load. for the same reason, matagtag ang models na ito kc nga it carry that much weight. so if ur really into crv, i suggest you take the gen 1 2000/1 model or gen2 2004 model 4x4.

why go for a car when the philippine road condition ain't designed for a sedan? that is not even taking into consideration ang baha. kung mag sedan ka, make sure sa skyway ka lang or nlex tatakbo kc dun lang smooth at walang baha ang kalye.

ang alam ko lang limited jan ay yung mga stickerz saying na limited, hahaha

merong Gen 1 na "limited"... yung may integrated fog lamps sa front bumper (japan edition daw ito sabi nung sales agent). only available in a/t. some late gen 1 models also have a limited edition passion orange paint (parang SiR), pero paintjob lang ito, no difference in mechanicals.

pero bumper lang ito (at yung lamps hehe). i think meron na ganitong bumper sa mga surplasan sa banawe.

engines, trannies, ECUs, mags, even the seats... pare-pareho lang yan. yung driver seat pala iba sa m/t and a/t. ung a/t may armrest, yun lang. oh, i forgot, 2 types of engines sa gen 1... b20 and b20z. all gen 1s sold after 2000 already had the b20z upgraded engine. so this isnt what you would call limited.

kung sobrang mahal ang asking kasi "limited", go for "regular" na lang parehas po lahat yun. this is if you aren't particular with exterior pieces or paintjobs.

btw, regarding the B20Z engine, per wikipedia, 1999 models already have this upgrade na rin pala. is this applicable to units released in philippines?

also during engine inspection, machecheck ko ba visually ang marking/or difference between B20 & B20Z?

kung ako bibili, ill take the cr-v na 2000 or 2001 gen 1. yung color white kasi eto yung mga last models na nilabas.

sobrang mahal nga lang ng benta ng nito kasi konti lang meron and kung meron man, hindi binebenta.

regarding sa engine, nope, no difference sa engine ng limited and 97-99 models. sound cruiser has the built in surround sound.
