Gen1 CRV mileage

mga bossing, I'm contemplating on buying a 2nd hand gen1 CRV. tanong ko lang kung matakaw ba talaga sa gas at kung ilan yung usual mileage nya.

and try to get the version with the overdrive pag matic. malaking tulong yan, lalo na pag highway driving. yung dating gen1 namin, 80kph lang takbo sa highway, kung mas mataas pa, lakas sa gas.

yup mga 1999-2000 model para di pa masyado laspag. between AT and MT malaki ba difference sa gas consumption? magiging daily driven vehicle kse.

Mas malakas din ang power output ng later models (the ones with the O/D button and armrests). 128 vs. 150 bhp.

Yr 2000 CRV 4x4 Matics should be easily around 480-490k.

ah... guys, so late models pala ung may dohc vtecs, right? kasi kala ko imported mga un, kasi for me local cr-v's only have sohc vtec....so now i know...

slight lang naman ang difference sa consumpsion ng manual sa a/t...ang maganda lang sa a/t, may center table ang front seats, arm rests, and since column ung shifter, may walk-through convinience ka...

my current daily drive is a 2k crv a/t, as much as possible get this similar later unit, as the others mentioned a/t column shifter w/ OD, armrests, and the more powerful B20Z engine with 150hp, looks better too with the body colored bumpers.

prices are approx. 600k+ for the later 2k models.

re. the iridium plugs, i noticed better mileage but do not care to measure the exact amount, but i doubt the 3-4kms/L improvement, siguro nasa 1-2 lang at most.

in terms of maintenance, ano usually nagiging problem sa gen1?

for our manual 99 crv, ang major lang napalitan namin eh bushings, brake pads, front shocks, aircon compressor and radiator. nagkarun din uneven rear tire wear sa inner portion n coz sakit daw ng CRV 1st gen(accdg to Honda casa pasig) yun dumadapa yun rear axle or soemthing sa katagalan ng gamit.

I observed some crv first gens on the road, para nga may tendency na dumapa yun rear tires coz mga 2-3 crvs na nakita ko na ganun. bale opposite ng piki.

maybe this also contributed to our inefficient mileage, baka around 5km/ltr. or less pa nga yun amin. medyo takaw nga sa gas for a 2.0. I suggest you tell your mechanic na tignan part na yun ng gulong.

but this baby is one tough car. mag 7 years na samin and still it runs well. definitely one of the best cars we owned.

column a/t shifter ang crv, floor shift ang manual..kaya wala/iba/smaller ung center table, and limited ang front-rear walk-through...

un lang naman interior difference nila...

daily driver ko ang 2001 gen 1 CrV M/T......mixed city/highway between 7-9 km/liter ng gasoline.....

5 years ko na itong gamit pero never pa ako nagka-problema sa CrV ko......talagang super reliable siya.....

a used one would be around P480th - P550th depending on the year and mileage
