    My car is honda civic vti 1996.Mula nun nagalaw po timing niya,parang nag-iiba po andar nya.Mahina makina halos mamatay lalo na't pag nakaaircon.Pinaadjust ko mabuti timing pero the same parin.Pumunta ako sa ibang mekaniko at ang inadjust po ay sa may F.I.(fuel injection).Sabi sa hangin daw dun.May part dun na pwede iadjust gamit screw (-).Nun naadjust nya naging ok na konti pero may time parin halos mamatay makina lalo pag bigla ka stop at neutral.parang may tunog na kumakatok katok mga 2-3 beses.Binalik ko sa mekaniko pero sabi baka kailangan na daw malinis sa loob ng F.I.Pumunta ako sa unang mekaniko,hindi daw kailangan linisin dun.Inadjust niya ulit pero maslalo bumalik sa dati.So sinubukan ko kanina iadjust.halos inikot ko yun pag adjust ko at medyo naging ok.Sabi kasi mekaniko 2 nun,pangit naman daw pag masyado malaki adjustment at pag madami hangin.Tanong kolang po,safe ba pag adjust ko kaya?o ano kaya talaga dahilan?Nagpachange oil lang po ako last week.

    that thing you're adjusting is called IAC (idle air control)

    usually nakatakip ang IAC screw coz factory set yan

    but it's ok to adjust

    pero pag masyado open ang adjust, sobra taas ang idle

    yan yata ang ginawa mo coz you're trying to prevent the engine from stalling when you let go of the gas pedal

    kung namamatay ang makina sa normal setting, that means madumi yung IAC valve

    I'm thinking that the mechanic who changed the timing did a sloppy job. As you mentioned, you didn't had the problem prior to him touching the timing settings.

    Which begs the next question... why did you had the timing changed?

    bossing tanong ko na lang din. sa kin naman iba ang case minsan tumataas ang revving ng makina during shifting gears i mean from 2000 rpm biglang palo ng 5000 rpm..

    sa fuel injection di ba to???

    The petron service center changed the fuel filter and spurk plug and its free to check the timing.And I just let them.I thought mas magiging ok.pero dun na po nag-iba.sana nga d ko nalang pinagalaw.

    that's strange

    manual?

    hindi ba dapat bababa ang rev coz you let got of the gas pedal between shifts

    hindi kaya nag-i-i-stuck ang accelerator kaya pag nag ka apak ng clutch tumataas ang rev?

    ULS is right.sa IDLE AIR CONTROL yata talaga yun.kasi sa hangin daw e.Iba iba kasi sinasabi mga mekaniko.Hindi pala basta basta ipagalaw mga yun.Pre,pacheck mo master clutch mo.

    You're right bro.dun sa IAC nga yun.paopen nga yata adjustment ko dahil paleft turn ginawa ko kanina pero napansin ko mas ok na ngayon po.dati pag shift ka,parang nanginginig.para nga yun dating nun mahina idle e.Paano po ba normal setting niya?

    ngayon na-adjust mo na ang IAC screw and hindi na namamatay ang engine between shifts or pag nag on ka ng aircon, ilan rpm ang idle ngayon?

    normal parin ba? (650-700?)

    o baka naman 900-1000 yan kaya hindi na namamatay

    Pag nakaon aircon,nasa 600-700 pero pag nakaoff na, nasa 900.
