I think it's the same engine as your local ph16 found in the EK vti civics.

The D16b are non V-TEC single overhead cam and very weak engine.
    Get this one instead...the B16B (EK9)1.6L. 16 valve, 189 HP and the R.L 8400

    thanks

A vtec engine there is a solenoid on the back of the left hand (looking in the engine compartment)side of the head. That's for a d series.

For a b series the vtec solenoid will be right in front of the distributor.

The D15B is a SOHC VTEC 1.5 (cc) 130 hp.

    The D15B2 is a SOHC 1.5(cc) 92 hp.

    The D15B6 is a SOHC 1.5(cc) 62 hp.

    The D15B7 is a SOHC 1.59CC) 102 hp.

    The D15B8 is a SOHC 1.5(cc) 70 hp.

    The D15Z1 is a SOHC VTEC 1.5(cc) 92 hp

    d15b vtec jdm = 1 solenoid
    d15b vtec 3-stage = 2 solenoids

Take note, pareho po silang VTEC .. and stage 3 is different from the 3-stage

boss pano ba malalaman kung gumagana na yung vtec? kasi i just forcefully bought a vtec engine equipped car. the engine is new though. i heard from other enthusiasts that you'll notice the car's full potential with the vtec functioning.

ON a VTEC engine there is a special camshaft that operates the valves. The camshaft has two sets of lobes on it. One set is designed to operate best at lower RPMs, the other set is designed to operate best at high rpms.VTEC does not make any noise when it is switching between one set of cam lobes and the other. IF it is setup correctly you won't feel it kick in either. It will be a smooth transition from one set of lobes to the other. On your car it probably switches over somewhere around 4,000 rpm

Is this engine exist??
