August 5th, 2006 05:04 PM #16guys, kanina nagpavulcanize ako ng tire, may sinuggest sakin yung technician... inflate ko daw ng nitrogen yung tites ko para mas matipid sa gas... totoo ba yun? how safe kaya yun? ang explanation pa niya is mas magaan daw ang nitrogen compared sa "air". it cost 150pesos per tire!

takaw talaga yung gen2 cr-v... we get about 6.0 to 6.5 km/l in our A/T CR-V and 6.5 to 6.8 km/l in the M/T.
keeping the thermostat to half or below helps (just increase the blower strength to compensate)

Actually, nitro is not really lighter than air, considering most air is 70-80% nitrogen already.
The benefits are stability under high heat and more constant pressure, as well as potentially less wear on the interior due to the absence of oxygen... which is weird, as most tires wear out long before the interior shows any sign of corrosion... hello? Sealed system?
From personal observations, the most you can expect is that tire pressure will stay constant longer, and won't degrade due to weather or over time (at least, not as much as with regular air). Any fuel economy benefits are from just this constant pressure, but you can do the same thing by topping off your tires every morning at the nearest gas station.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
