    3. anung RPM nagaactivate and Vtec ng model n to, pwede ba itaas yun or anu ba talga adviseable.
    5. Anung mga mods b sir pwede gawin without swapping engine (tight budget nga kasi hehehe)

    salamat mga sir

you can look around this subforum, the details of the civic EK has been covered before, you know. that said, here's some answers to get you started:

    1. ph16 is the code for phil market. i think it's a d15 everywhere else, re-bored to 1600cc.

    2. VTEC, 1st generation, intake side only for fuel efficiency *high rpm operation.

    3. 3500-4000 DAW. you can tune it to activate lower, but what for? bad idea to be running vtec all the time as the car isn't really designed for that. it's an economy engine.

    4. there's no such thing as a "cheap" mod for more power. that said, there's also no such thing as a mod that increases power BUT preserves fuel economy. turbo will run you 100,000, all-motor will be about half. you pays yer money and you makes yer choice, ika-nga...

    5. try to save up na, because the worthwhile, non-jologs mods cost a small pile of money. example: nagkatabi kayo ng isang 96 model din sa stoplight. nagkindatan kayo, tapos pag GO, birit. iniwan ka ng 42 seconds. nagkakape na sya shell ikaw papasok pa lang. nagbukasan kayo ng engine bay. naka b16 pala sya, ikaw naka ph16 na may headers. medyo dyahe yun.

so anu kaya pwede ko gawin in my stock engine para lumakas ng konte, tama ka pards save muna ko pero for the meantime any suggestion what i can do with my existing stock PH16? San b may reliable n shops sir, kasi everybody seems to be claiming they are the best. magnada sana kung yung talgang nasubukan nyo n.

madami kasi engine codes yung honda, nakakalito eh hehe.

after googling for TS, i found that the exact code for the ph16 could be D16Y5.

    * TS:

what boss jaymd is suggesting is a frankenstein... old block mated to a different cylinder head (with all the cams, etc). some of the LXi ph15 non-vtec guys do this so they can have vtec and more power. pero the cost is almost the same as getting a d15b with 18 camlobes, so better get the whole engine na lang with the ECU para direct bolt on (swak sa mounts yun no fabrication needed).

i would still suggest mag ipon mode muna. make the engine run reliable for the meantime... get a feel for the car, how it handles. research on the best value mods. try to hit vtec from time to time by making safe hataw sa sctex or someplace na hindi ka mabababangga or mahuhuli. get the timing belt waterpump and leaky gaskets replaced, aircon serviced, etc... hindi sirain ang honda...

tapos when kabisado mo na kotse mo at may 150,000 ka na, time for the mods. best for me would be a small turbo with intercooler. angas tignan, lakas bumirit.

visit the honda club of the phil forums, andun mga recommended shops nila, both engine builders and tuners.

Mga tanong for honda civic
