i do have this particular model & i can say it's engine is very responsive. pagpitik ng gas pedal, spontaneous ang batak ng makina. aircon is very cool even during summer. i prefer the automatic cause it's more relaxing to drive.
gas cosnumption though is on the 8.5kpl at mixed city & hiway.
your budget should be more than enough to get you a good one. just take your time to shop around. btw, there's only 4x4 of this gen 1 models.

My comments on the AT 10-seater...
It's thirsty - 6-7 km/li during city driving. Managed to get 8-9 km/li, but with a really light foot and AC turned off.
The brakes take some getting used to, and the rear seats are really not meant for long trips.
On the bright side, the engine sounds great when you get to the high RPMs and the aircon's good, at least for the first two rows.

I used to own a CRV '00 model with manual transmission, which my wife and I used for about three years as a daily driver before passing it to my mom. I sold it sometime in late 2005.
Despite having a non VTEC engine, I recall it had good acceleration and handling. Also, I remember I had the interior reupholstered by Leder Interia at the dealership before taking delivery, though I kept everything else stock. Lastly, since I lived and worked in Makati, I could only manage FC of about 6-7 km/ltr.
Masuwerte rin ang nakabili ng CRV ko, a chap who introduced himself as a chorus dancer on noontime TV shows who was buying his first ride. About a month after I sold the CRV, I remember seeing it - naka bull bars, step board at hard case na ang spare tire.

Magkaiba ng kaunti ang makina ng 99 sa 00 model. And yep, there is nothing bad to say sa crv except of course sa fc. be prepared to get only about 6-7 km/l city driving .

btw, we sold ours recently for 300k (relative kasi..)

January 4th, 2009 03:13 AM #8Thanks sa mga inputs. may tinignan ako crv 2000 model manual for 365K. 78K mileage. The owner said FC is 9-10Km\L may gas saver kc. wt do you think kya?kunin ko na?dual airbag, manual, all stock, good interior, alarm, 80% tire, new bat, wla nmn bumubulwak n water if the engine start while radiator cap off, sobrang lamig ng aircon. wla papaayos konting retouch lng and ball joint pero sila n sgot dun. price is 365K, fast inputs will be very much appreciated. thanks again.
