Saang country yan? Di ba dito may pinipirmahang waiver/contract na bawal gawing public transpo ang Civic?

Seriously, IMO I dont see antything wrong kung gawin mang PUV ang isang kotse.

almost all car brands here in ph have been used as taxi except for honda.. so hindi natin alam kung tatagal ba ang civic on the way taxi drivers drive. toyota corolla, kia pride, nissan sentra, mitsu lancer even other brands like daewoo, isuzu gemini and mazda 323 have been used as taxi.. medyo nawawala lang sila ngayon kasi phase out na lumang model..same with corolla big body phase out na yan kaya nadami na vios, altis and sentra as taxi..

IMO, car manufacturers didn't design their cars as for "taxi" use.. they designed them as passenger cars that will be used under "normal conditions".. iba kasi ang perception ng used as taxi dito sa pinas... HARABAS gamit lang ng gamit hanggang bumigay

well in other countries they use BMW and Mercedes Benz and other luxury european brands sedans as PUV TAXI...so civic is no exemption...at least civic yung ginamit hindi city or jazz... sa probinsya nga dito some use the altis as taxi but here in metro manila vios ang taxi tapos dami pa din nagkalat na bulok na taxi baho pa... tayo lang naman mga pinoy masyadong particular sa ganyan..

But I doubt if private owners give a sh1t.

I'm not really sure because I was browsing in one of those Thailand sites when I came across 'FD Taxi'. Sorry I couldn't understand their text but yeah, maybe this is from Taiwan/Taipei.

pero myth lang naman iyang kontrata na iyan. any fd buyer can do whatever he wants as long as he's done w/ the payments. iyon nga lang, kung ginamit as public transport iyong kotse, hindi i-honor ang warranty niya if ever masiraan w/in the warranty period.

Hey I heard before that Honda Phil. used the "contract" thing to hit 2 birds w/ one stone. It's a simple marketing strategy actually.. thru this kasi they can hide their known suspension quality weakness and at the same time make consumers feel pampered and exclusive because of their car not being a Taxi and all.

The civic being a taxi is no big deal actually, but for us pinoys that has fallen to the marketing strategy that honda phil. did e are kinda shocked in a way. And oh this fact.. or fiction came from a Honda officer locally. ;)

I don't remember signing a contract when I bought my FD Civic.

But the FD taxi from Taiwan looks cool with the spoiler.

I don't get the suspension weakness idea... how's the Civic any different from the Corolla (soft shocks), the Lancer (notorious for "kalampag") or the Nissan Sentra (soft front shocks... oh... and CV Joints are a pain)? Granted, the front double wishbone is more complicated and likely a bit more expensive to replace if you break something, but it's not much different, otherwise.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

lahat ng sedans regardless of make will have problems in suspension if we are talking about Philippine roads. the only reason why matunog ang Toyota is bec. napakamura ng replacement parts.

it also explains na kumbakit nagreklamo ang mga car parts dealer sa north expressway area. ever since daw nagawa ang NLEX, humina ang benta nila sa replacement parts pang-ilalim.

now I have a Honda CRV which is almost 10 years old and I had a 4x4 Mitsu strada na 7 years old. My mitsu wore out sa suspension first at malaki ang pagawain so i decided to sell. it's newer than my crv and it has less mileage than my crv.

we also had a civic esi and a corolla gli, both encountered problems in suspension exactly after reaching 3 years of use. so to say that Honda has weaker suspension is unfounded.

I've a Lancer (itlog). 'Been with me for 14 years. Lotsa taxis of the same make. No big deal. When I go to Cambodia, my taxi service usually sends a Camry taxi to fetch me from the airport. One time, they even sent a Jeep Cherokee. Not a new one but stil, it was a Jeep Cherokee. One time, they even sent a Puegot. Last time I visited Malaysia (March), the taxi service we call usually sends a Cefiro.

Honestly, it's only here in the Philippines (I think) that car owners are "saddened" when they see that a cab is the same make and model as their ride. To most coutries, it is no big deal. Fact of life.
