since you bought you're car from a previous owner...(pang ilang owner na po kayo?)....it's advisable to change the timing belt and tensioner na din... 86k mileage is a lot and for you to have a worry free driving...I changed mine last 06 it cost me around 3.5k to 4k but not over 4k if I'm not mistaken. Ask the previous owner if he changed the timing belt...if not change this na.

sir the thing with timing belts is that hindi natin malalaman if ever malapit na masira until it breaks. since used na yung pagbili niyo, ill say na go ahead and change na the timing belt... kasama sa pagpalit ang bearing and oil seal. if you have the budget sama niyo na waterpump kasi accessable na yun pagkinalas. also the 3 fan belts para safe na lahat.

its pretty accurate naman yung 80k or 8 years which ever comes first. its a preventive thing to do this para hindi na tayo mahassel sa road if ever maputol. well thats just my opinion.

estimate ko, mga a little less than 4k sa timing, oil seal, bearing.

ans_lim168: thanks sa info, bale 3rd owner na ko at wala na yong manual nong car, sinubukan ko rin ask yong previous owner pero di ko na ma-contact para ma-ask sana kung nagpalit na siya ng timing belt.

Parang 1.3k yata as of 07. Dun kami bumili sa store tabi ng Car Power malapit sa MRT Taft. Dami stores dun na nagbebenta ng orig parts and class A.

I changed mine at 70k, bought the car * 63k logged. Thinking back, I should have changed all engine belts including the timing belt at the onset of purchase, since I could not get a complete history from seller about the maintenance nung car.

Always a good practice to do this, plus that of changing all fluids as well. I think one should do all these and count it a part of the total price of the car when purchasing.

A little price to pay for having peace of mind I say.

Yup, OEM sir yung timing belt... everything else na pinalitan ko at that time was oem type na lang, pero Japan din daw.

wait wait... yung waterpump ata yung question niya...
for the water pump hindi pa ko scout for prices. battle plan ko na kasi all those and natanong ko pa lang yung timing, 3 fan, bearing, oil seal plus labor.

i have no idea pa how much yung water pump pero for sure sasabay ko na. ill let you know if maka scout na ko ulit.

hindi ko nabasa ng mabuti.. hehehe sorry.
