Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. has announced the introduction of its Civic MUGEN Limited Edition model. With only 26 units available in the market, the model offers original, factory-installed MUGEN accessories that bring the sporty character of the Honda Civic 2.0 S to another level.

Exclusively designed for the discerning car enthusiasts who appreciate enhanced premium dynamic styling to complement spirited driving performance, the model bears front and rear under spoiler, side spoiler, front sports grille, ventilated visor, rear wing, forged gunmetal aluminum alloy wheel, heptagon nut set, door under garnish and MUGEN metal emblem.

It also comes with a certification paper to ascertain authenticity of the fitted accessories.

“Honda enthusiasts have long been waiting for a model that is spruced up with authentic MUGEN accessories,” said Voltaire Gonzales, vehicle sales and corporate communications head of HCPI.

“For an exclusive offer, we are very excited to present the Civic 2.0 S in Pearl White Mica color with original MUGEN accessories to further enhance the Civic’s sporty demeanor,” he added.

MUGEN, which is a Japanese word for infinite, designs and manufactures racing engines and premium aftermarket parts under the strong partnership with Honda. MUGEN has a strong racing heritage and has gained international recognition from its Super GT and Formula One background, to name a few. It also specializes in tuning engines and developing customized parts exclusively for Honda products since the mid 1980’s.

Chiefly designed to deliver pure intensity into one’s driving experience, the Honda Civic provides spirited performance and technologically-advanced features that go perfectly well with its unparalleled styling. It comes with a race-inspired paddle shift technology that enables manual shifting of gears without the clutch.

Staying true to its sporty DNA, the Civic 2.0 S variant is equipped with an i-VTEC DOHC engine that delivers a maximum power output of 155 ps at 6000 rpm. Easily, more than 26,000 units of the current generation Civic have already been sold in the country.

It will hit select Honda dealer showrooms starting tomorrow with a suggested retail price of P 1,398,000. For more details, you may visit www.hondaphil.com.

Why would you react so much if somebody bought that car??? This is a free country. It's like buying limited edition watches, it's the buyer preference where to spent his money... And please don't call people idi.. beacause they bought something they like. And if the world is abundant with idi.. I think you are one of them hehe.... Or perhaps you just don't have the money to burn, right? tsksk... and right if only honda released the Type R's and Mugen RR's why not because its the best buy. Here in our country, Filipinos love to buy "copies", immitations... from bags to watches etc. Like those mugen or type r body kits from taiwan or volk racing rims from thailand or Bride seats that are copies also... My point is, dont call people "uto uto or idi..." just because they bought something you dont agree buying for yourself for some reason or another. If you have nothing to say good to a person then just keep to yourself beacause you are no better....

Oh my... you are entitled to your opinion but I think you are the idi... one. Why bother if someone bought that car? Did he used your money huh? He likes it and that does not make him an "uto uto" nor an idi... You mean to say, if I buy a 2 million IWC watch makes me an idiot??? I think not hehehe...

If Honda made money perhaps not by much. I know my parts and I have other cars tricked out. Now to wit: a Mugen 17in Original Rims at speedlab cost 41k each so multiply that by 4. I have a friend at Banawe sells it 120k (even at 18in) and all these are without tires so add up around 40k on the tires (depends on the brand). So, that's around what... 160k to 180k. We inquired the original mugen bodykits from japan and it will cost around 120 to 140k plus the Logos, the nuts, the rear spoiler, front grill, the garnish, the visor etc... and if you all add up it's around 300k plus the 1.1m price of 2.0 liter
civic equals 1.4m I have a friend that can set it all up for less than 200k but for what? All copies (fake) only for the body kits and spoilers (which I really dont like). The point is... it's like buying a FAKE Rolex at Greenhills for 3,500 and buying an Original Rolex at G5 for 750,000 ( to millions even). But it's true kanya kanya lang and ganyan talaga.... it's either fake or real d ba.

Hehe I rest my case. Nobody convinced anyone who bought any of the 26. It's just a matter of taste and preference....

155 ps is quite low for a 2.0 dohc engine. adding spoilers and wings will not make it faster. it's disappointing honda philippines went to this route instead of putting the proper engine then add these mugen parts as icing.

you are asking too much for a type r. the suspension is too stiff that you will never have a comfortable ride specially if it's a daily commuter car.

234 units of FD2 Type Rs were sold in Malaysia...I wouldn't fathom how much 2nd-hand units now cost.

    K20 1,998 cc (1.998 L; 121.9 cu in), 225 PS (165 kW; 222 hp) *8000, 215 N·m (159 lb·ft) *6100:
    *2007- JDM Honda Civic Type-R (FD2)

On 19th April 2010, Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd says it will end sales of the four-door Civic Type R, following an announcement from Honda Motor Co. Ltd Japan that it will discontinue production of the car. Honda Malaysia has sold 234 units of four-door Civic Type R since August 2007 until today.

“After having evaluated the model based on environmental performance, which is the new method of calculating emissions in JC08 mode, as well as current market demands, we believe that the time has come for us to discontinue production of the 4-door Civic Type R,” said the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Honda Malaysia, Toru Takahashi in a statement here today.
