    pag ang tubig ng radiator ay palabas ibig sabihin kelangan ipamachine shop ang cylinder head mga 1.5k yun plus ang cylinder head gasket.top overhaul na talaga yan.mabigat nga talaga ang magpagawa niyan.pero kung wala prob ang wala termostat ok na muna yan pero wag ka makasiguro na bigla kang itirik dahil nag overheat na.check mo parati ang temperature mo.ingat

    medyo similar din ang prob ko kasi every almost week i have to refill my reservoir. seems to be no leak if checked visually, thermostat & temp sending unit (?) are about a year or two old only, & i just had my rad overhauled last october, & my rad cap is now rated at 1.1 (it still looks ok pa din naman also). what more & where should i check?

    btw, the car isn't overheating naman but i sure want to stop the constant refilling of the reservoir because it means there is something wrong w/ the cooling system of my vti

    Thanks po sa advice mga bossing. Iipon muna ako. I try ko rin canvas sa ibang shops kung magkano top overhaul nila. May mga maiiadvice po pa kayu good shop? If conti lang po diferrence, baka sa casa ko pagawa (para mas sure?) Sa casa po ba is may warrantee repairs nila like this?

    brad baludoy, baka po may butas na maliliit ang mga hose ng radiator. may nabasa ako dati na some butas can't been seen by the eye.

    Yeah, that might be the problem. My bud's SiR overheated once when he did 200km/h. A lot of car nuts said that the cylinder head was warped, and made radiator problems worse due to leaks.

    share ko lang po...naalala ko agad ang forum na to,kahapon paakyat kami tagaytay convoy ko civic vitec nag overheat sabi ng driver lagi daw nag ooverheat ang civic kasi pag mainit ang makina lumalabas sa radiator ang tubig tapos garalgal na makina palagi na daw yun sabi ng driver ang ginagawa niya pinapalamig lang tapos ok na daw uli.sabi ko top overhaul yan.matagal na daw gusto pa top overhaual wala lang budget boss niya kasi 20+ daw sa honda shaw labor materyales na daw yun

    seems to me na sakit ng vti talaga ang cooling system.
    I had the same problem with my esi pero ngayon ok na.
    resolutions were a new rad cap (1.1), radiator overhaul and a new thermostat. yun ayos na..

    napaisip lang ako, diba mas malaki ang radiator grill ng ek (vti) kesa eg (esi/hatch) pero bakit parang mas marami akong naririnig na cooling problems sa vti? or am i just being noob? (pardon)

    I have the same problem with Civic 97. The temperature rises pag over 100kph or kung uphill climb. Sometimes sa NLEX tataas yung temp so I'll switch off the AC para bumaba ng konti. Pero pag dating sa toll booth, bababa na sa normal even before I get to pay the toll fee...saglit lang normal na ulit temp.

    There would be days that I wouldn't even experience a temp increase basta steady lang takbo at 100kph. Normal city driving in Metro Manila is ok din except on hot days na hirap din yung AC...tumataas na yung temp.

    I've been told na radiator overhaul daw kailangan. I also don't have the thermostat anymore. Pero hinde naman nababawasan ng coolant/water.

    Why would a top overhaul be required? What is causing the overheating at high speeds or uphill climb?

    hi bynnos,
    Nagtatapon na kasi yung yung radiator sa raditaor resevior nya. Sabi din sa casa in may tama na daw yung top kaya need i top overhaul.

    Updates lang po ulit, kanina lang habang drive ako:
    1. going to airpor, NLEX drive from Pampanga - tumaataas temp ko sa NLEX (no thermostat), need to stop sa Shell GMA kamuning. Stop aircon, tapon yung hot water sa reservoir(above gauge kaya alam ko na tinatapon ng radiator ko dito), put fresh water sa reseivor (on normal gauge) put fresh water sa radiator.
    2. Airport pabalik ng Pamp (NLEX) - off aircon, hinh temp occurs on high speed (110 -120)

    Bale, same issue occur pag wala o pag meron thermostat. Gumagana naman po ang fan, nag aautomatic cya (di cya nakarekta).

    same problem with me my fan working automatic triggered by sensor,it means my thermostat is working.d naman ngtatapon ng water sa reservoir.high speed tumataas temp gauge,slow driving ok lng naman.its pure water no coolant,i will try to put coolant and see how.is changing to radiator cap 1.1 will helP?as of now im using.09
