guys, my wife owns a crv 2nd gen and needs replacement parts on the following: shock mounting, lower control arm bushing and etc., since i had already canvased all parts at honda casa (province) and ready to pay for the items (parts) they told me that they cannot release or to sell items unless it is to be installed by the mechanics of the casa, or sila n po mismo magkabit with of course ung casa price for the labor, and since butas na po yung bulsa ko kasi casa nga po ang price when it comes to origanal parts. what I really hate most is that the labor is much higher than the part(s)
ex. bushing(orig)= 550.00 , labor = 950.00 where an ordinary mechanic can do the job, and charge you with only 250.00 for the job.

    thanks a lot....

mataas talaga sa casa. one reason is because they have a higher overhead. tingnan mo na lang: may malaking waiting room ba si mang isko's shop, na may TV and coffee? may secretary ba si mang isko? etc..
i think you can buy original parts from outside the casa. marami diyan (at least, here in manila). the only difference is, hindi "Casa, Inc." ang nakasulat sa resibo. also consider, mas madalang kang maloko ng fake parts if you buy casa..
but hey! there are advantages to casa labor. for instance, the process of repair may need specialized training that only the casa can provide.. or specialized equipment available only at the casa..
    bottonline, everything has a price.
btw, casa rules are governed by the TRUE golden rule: he who has the gold, makes the rules!

    Not totally true.
Sale of goods/consumer law would over-rule that in most countries. Am sure there must be some law in The Philippines also.

The 'right to refuse' a sale law is very grey area; and would have to include a good reason.

If you intend having the parts fitted by a competent mechanic and the fitting of the parts would not put undue risk on you or others, they should supply.

If it really bothers you that much then make a letter of complaint and address it to Honda Philippines. I'm sure that casa will "gladly help you" in a jiffy!

    Kalokohan yan.

I've bought parts from the dealership in Makati and installed them myself so many times. These aren't your usual parts mind you: I've bought seat belt buckles and engine splash shields.

If you've already paid for the parts, with no written contract that they will install it... they cannot keep you from taking them home. That's against the law. You've paid for them, they've got to give them to you.

But... since your vehicle is out of warranty... just bring it elsewhere. Saves you money on parts, too.

Not sure about this... but I've always think that any seller reserves the right to refuse a sale.

It's a different story if you've already paid for it and they refuse to release the items to you.

kaya nga po, in the first place they should have told me that they are not selling parts unless it must be installed by their casa mechanic.

casa rules!!!! tama ba o mali?
