December 21st, 2008 03:22 AM #1I have a 97 Civic Lxi and it's dark-tinted. I'm currently using 145x100 headlamps. I opted to try and install Xenonworx HID lamps, but I preferred not to since I found solid lighting from the regular hallogen lamps.
Only thing is I want to try higher wattage like 170x130 / 170x100, but I'm not sure if it's possible since Civic uses plastic headlamp covers. It might get burned.
Any advise?

Replace your "maniac" tints with the lightest tints available.
Peace.

IMO i would consider and check first if my lens and reflectors are clean before doing an upgrades. try to re-aim the beam correctly to lessen the cost due to numerous upgrades/replacements....and hope nobody gets annoyed by too much glare created. good luck
Just a moment... just checked my vin. mine not affected. i read somewhere 2018-2019...
