mga sir, seek lng po ako ng advice nio, im new to the world of car kasi.. i own a 99 honda civic vtec.. malapit na kasing mag 80thou ung mileage nung car, sabi kasi nila major maintenance po pag ganun na ung mileage.. ask ko lng po sana kung anu ba ung mga gagawin sa car, i mean ung ussual po, tsaka magkanu magagastos ko and it takes how many hours to finish the job? at tsaka san po maganda magpaservice?

at 80k, as far as i know:

- you need to replace all fluids, including transmission oils
- you would also need to replace your timing belt, your tensioner and your water pump
- if your suspension components are still ok, leave it that way.
- you may also need to replace your aircon and alternator belts

for all of these activities, it can be done within one day.
sa gastos, estimate ko (parts and fluids pa lang):

OIL (mineral) - 800 or
OIL (semi-synthetic) 1600 or
OIL (synthetic) 2400

OIL filter (200)
Brake Fluid (200)
Clutch Fluid (if manual) and PS Fluid (300)
Radiator Coolant (300)
Timing Belt (OEM) 1800

Wala pa labor and wala pang suspension components (depende kung kailangan palitan)
yung ibang dapat gawin like camber, tire change, aircon cleaning can be deferred, kung necessary lang.

kung gusto mo (pa) magka-idea kung anu-ano (pa) ang dapat gawin, punta ka honda casa and inquire (wala naman masama na mag-inquire sa casa) what the preventive maintenance service (PMS) will entail for the kilometer reading you have attained. ask mo na rin for the price quote, they will give you a run-down of what needs to be done and cost of the materials/labor. with this quote, you will now have an idea of what should be done and the budget needed...it doesn't mean though na sa casa mo ipapagawa...sabihin mo na lang muna sa casa attendant na "ito ba ang mga dapat gawin? ito ang aabutin na presyo? hmmm...babalikan ko at ipagpapaalam ko sa wife ko(kung married ka na)/ ipagpapaalam ko sa daddy(kung wala pa asawa) ko para bigyan nya ako ng budget." this way, you have an actual idea of what is to be done in case you have a kilalang repair service shop na iyong mapapagkatiwalaan to do all the things listed down at the casa. oks ba?

meron ka some options to choose from like sa engine oil--whether regular oil , semi-synthetic or fully synthetic.

give special emphasis sa mga fluids/oils to be changed...

kung nasa iyo pa iyong car manual ng auto mo, may checklist iyan dun nang kailangan sundin bro for your civic's preventive maintenance. otherwise, the casa most convenient to you may provide you w/ the said checklist as suggested above

btw, saan ba location mo para maka-suggest kami ng reputable shops near to you

mga sir salamat po sa mga info.. great help po yung knowlegde u shared with me, dat s wat im xpecting here kaya po ako nag member.. mga sir, ilocos sur po location ko.. 8hours drive to metro manila.. but 8 s not a hindrance kung sa manila ko pa mahahanap ung reputable na shop to do the service, as long as my car would be fixed and i will ride 8 with peace of mind, dat wud be ok for me.. talagang gusto ko pong malaman kung saan ung mga tested shops, i mean dos quality shop na natry nio na to do the service po.. nababasa ko din po sa mga furom ung about sa speedyfix sa my shaw, magaling daw po sila wen 8 cums to honda? true po? and yes sir, before i travel dat far, magtatanong po muna ako sa honda casa na medyo malapit, wala po kasi ung manual ng car, nawala daw ng unang may ari.. meron pong casa i think sa ilocos norte and pangasinan mga 3hours to 4hours drive mga yan to my place, anything u know pa mga sir na reputable shop na malapit po sa location ko? again, thank you po sir 1d4lv, sir silver streak, and sir baludoy! more power

you can try also registering at honda club phil kasi baka may local chapter ang hcp dyan at kung mero man baka may maka-assist sa iyo sa ilocos sur. tsaka i remember before may nag-post ng service schedule ng civic dun before kasi may kapareha kang naging problema dati.

and one thing sir.. san kaya ako makakahanap ng manual ng vtec 99? my nabibili kaya sa casa? ehehe.. dko kasi alam, gusto ko sana un para malaman ko ung about sa gamit kong sasakyan and all the important things to maintain as they go old.. para atleast mas kunte naman na itatanong ko siguro about sa mga parts.. kasi nasa 10% lang siguro nalalaman ko in general sa sasakyan e ehehe.. so, i would like to be educated by you guys, mostly on how to maintain the car, especially on the engine..

bro, tama si bro h1tman. pa-photocopy ka na lang or mag hanap ka ng ma-downloadan from the net kasi ako naka-download ng service manual for my vti (iba pala ang service manual from the car manual). very useful siya as reference at pag may konting kaya ko i-diy
